Cruz is not going to win the nomination because it's personal now with Trump [vanity]

Posted on 02/03/2016 10:09:40 AM PST by springwater13

The bad blood between Cruz and Trump is now personal. Trump will take it to Cruz like he took it to Bush. Scorched Earth warfare. If he loses, so be it at least Cruz won't win.

I don't see a situation now where Cruz can consolidate Trump support if he falters. If Trump starts bleeding, his supporters will go to Rubio or step away from the political process and not support Cruz. I don't think people understand how Ted's televangelist routine grates on less religious voters that make up the bulk of Trump's coalition. People around my office were talking about his victory speech Tuesday morning and largely were horrified.

Cruz barely wins Iowa, and is losing terribly in NH and NC, and somehow it’s Trump who’s going to ‘implode’???

Cruz cannot run from his PACs.

If Cruz gets his PACs under control then things might change.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that many Trump supporters are decidedly anti-Christian and seem to believe they elevate themselves by sneering and jeering at the religious.

Whatever floats their boats.

No candidate can "get his PAC under control." It is illegal for the campaign and the PACs to coordinate.

Cruz PUT all his marbles (and brains) into "marrying Iowa".

Absolutely wrong. Cruz has the best ground game organized in all of the states up through March 15. He has been working on the grassroots organization for a year. He even has an organization in California, which doesn't vote until June.

I've been here a long time, and this is pretty normal, although with Trump, there does seem to be more fervency from his supporters than ever before.

I remember a pretty heated feud between Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter supporters.

It is illegal

I see you copy Cruz's sincerity and the belief that all others are rife with stupidity.

So, that 9% poll in NH is cloak and dagger stuff.

I won’t vote for anyone but Donald Trump.

I don’t trust any of those bastards in the uniparty and I include Ted Cruz R-Goldman Sachs among them.

He’s as bought and paid for as the rest of them and won’t do a damned thing to change the direction this country is headed.

Flame away because I don’t care. You have the right to vote for whom you want and so do I.

Polls are polls - some have a better track record than others, and even good ones can be wrong. Just look at the polls in Iowa and compare them to the actual vote. You can also look at the ones for the KY governor's race, the British parliamentary elections, etc. Polls can be indicators of general trends, especially if multiple polls are showing similar trends. But to rely on any single poll to be accurate is foolishness.

I don’t believe it’s personal with Trump. I believe Trump is a showman (not necessarily a bad thing), and that we see what he wants us to see. I also suspect that Cruz is Trump’s second choice and that Trump does not want to destroy Cruz unless that will guarantee a Trump victory.

I’m now convinced that Trump’s sole reason for running was to make sure a conservative didn’t win. He doesn’t mind taking down Cruz and Carson, probably doesn’t mind losing the general. But notice he won’t touch the most corrupt, slickest lyingest professional politician of the bunch — Rubio.

They are both stupid if they don’t take it to Rubio. He’s going to walk away with the nomination and that would be a disaster...another GOPe win.

The more Trump bashed Cruz the more Trump will drop. Watch it happen.

Are you watching?
