The first season was a bit short, but has the virtue of being free on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed them, but I am not willing to pay the $1.99 per episode for the subsequent seasons, and given the leftist/ecoterrorist views of the real-life JLD, am not optimistic about the scripts. She winds up becoming POTUS -- IOW, lookie, time for a woman POTUS, Hillary Clinton.

Great, great show. HILARIOUS. Julia Louis-Dreyfus deserves every emmy she’s won for it.

They walk a thin, thin line and they do it very well. Hubby and I have been watching it for a while, and I have a very thin skin when it comes to being offended as a conservative and I have to say the show has never offended me. Not even on the abortion episode.

Now, it’s a comedy of course, not serious discourse. But the mockery is directed widely and evenly.

That said, rough language, adult humor, etc. I can easily see where someone might be offended by it, but we love it. I hate to think our country is really run by people like the ones in that show, but yeah, I’m pretty sure it is.

It is a factual bio of Joe Biden but played by a female.

Watch the Expanse. It’s great for a 2 day TV binge. Great directing and great sets and designs.

with the gal from Seinfeld?

Yep, and when I see Julia Louis-Dreyfus in that role, I don't see a vice-president, I see Elaine. So now Elaine is pretending to be a government official? When will Frank Costanza burst onto the set, and put an end to this charade?

I’m about half way through “The Man in the High Castle.” It looks like exactly what the Dems want America to be, but without Japanese and German conquest. A totally disarmed population unable to fight against a strict police state with Stasi/KGB lurking everywhere.

That’s the reason I’ve never attempted.

Likely another West Wing type show.

lol.

although Larry David is a Vehement ultra liberal, he was smart enough to keep it out of the show for the most part.

I watch it. Found it surprisingly entertaining. Just don’t take it seriously.

Amazon Prime has their DC comedy called Alpha House. It is about 3 old senators and 1 nOOb senator who share a house to cut down on expenses. It is watchable.

Ive only seen the first season (free on prime). At least in season 1, the character is left wing, but is so incompetent/clueless/selfish that I would say the net effect is a slightly proconservative. Having said that it is definitely satire and I can’t speak to subsequent seasons. Oh, and it is full of vulgarity.

I might give this a try after I wrap up my “Justified” marathon. “Justified” is very good, a blend of John Wayne/Marshal Dillon and the Wild Bunch in 21st century Appalachia.

Just a note:

Dreyfus is from one of the wealthiest families in the world. And yes, the Dreyfus family made their money in oil. Remember that whenever she starts spouting-off Leftist drivel.

It is a little bit like that. She’s arrogant, rude, condescending, fickle, focused on trivia, out of touch. Not unlike Elaine, but much more pronounced. She plays a RINO republican, no doubt about that. R after her name but she could give a fig about conservative principles, or any other ones for that matter. It really is funny. Good ensemble cast. Lots of running around putting out fires that she starts with her mouth. Very funny stuff. Not kid stuff though.

Huh, the wiki page says the character is a democrat (hard to tell the difference from a RINO though.
