It put the world on edge after its supposed hydrogen bomb test. But perhaps we can learn to love North Korea now that it claims to have invented a revolutionary liquor that won't leave you bleary-eyed and hungover.

And no, apparently it's not water.

According to state-run newspaper Pyongyang Times, this "suave" liquor is made from a plant extract called ginseng, and uses glutinous rice instead of sugar.

This secret blend of six-year-old ginseng and "scorched rice," produced by Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory researchers, is what makes the alcohol hangover-free, the article reported.

"Koryo Liquor, which is made of six-year-old Kaesong Koryo insam, known as being highest in medicinal effect, and the scorched rice, is highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover," Jong Hwa Sun wrote.

"Koryo Liquor" has been such a success, it has been registered as a "national scientific and technological hit" across the communist country, coming first in the food sector festival, the newspaper reported.

But the amber-colored liquor pales in comparison to a previous invention.

Pure alcohol, properly distilled and consumed without any sugars, leaves no hangover.

If you’ve ever had real shine where the heads are properly removed, you know what I mean. (Heads are the light end, highest proof alcohols with the lowest boiling points.)

I’m sure those North Koreans, who are starving (99.9999%), are rejoicing.

A country led by a man who never farts or poops can certainly figure out how to make hangover proof liquor. No problem.

I guess Kim Jung Oon got tired of waking up hung over. He’s infamous for being a drunk.

Second choice :

Discipline yourself to take 3-4 Advil before going to
bed. Sleep thru the hangover and deal with the dehydration.

Ginseng has long been thought to have near magical properties in Korean lore...peddled as an herbal Viagra and healing potion.

And rice liquor has long been a part of Korea. Its called Soju, and I can say with certainty that it gives the worst hangover known to man.
