A couple years ago the wife and I went to Houghton in late February to go snow mobiling for a week.
From Houghton to Copper Harbor is absolutely incredible.
And the ice festival at Michigan Tech up there is to die for.
Taxes are low in Arkansas.
Were as in the N.E. and Calif. they screw ya on them taxes cause they gots lots of liberal crap to finance.
What did your neighbors do for a living?
Seems as though three years ago they were both working for different computer software suppliers but both lost their jobs to guys from India here on a visa. So each went back to school. One ended up working for a trucking company that hauled pipe in West Texas, the other one worked in a machine shop in Midland. They left their families here. Worked okay but absence was wearing more than a little thin.
They are pretty enterprising guys so am sure they will find something but both say they won’t move and won’t live apart from their wife and kiddos any more. In the meantime both apparently plowed all their extra money into paying off their homes and other debt so financially they will be okay for a while.
