With every ticket you buy, several dollars go to causes that are totally antithetical to FR causes.

I saw the movie and loved it. Very well acted. Four stars.

Looks like I’m going to have to see both judging from the answers I’m receiving.

I love the movies so it will be a pleasure.

I like a lot of the movies DiCaprio is in but The Revenant was so far fetched it was almost comical. I walked out of the movie wondering what the point of the movie was and questioning if it was worth the carbon footprint it took to make it.

I was disappointed DiCaprio really didn’t get raped by the bear.

Buy a ticket for a different movie playing in the same theatre and then hop over to see the Leo film. Problem solved... if there’s another movie playing that’s worth a ticket purchase.

Saw them both...The Revenant if you’re looking for some good escapism...but the Big Short if you want some good insight into the mortgage crisis of 2008 presented in an entertaining way. Entertainment versus education really.

I would agree, but the story of Hugh Glass is true.

Believe it or not, it is based on the true story of Hugh Glass. The movie does take some historical liberties (I don’t want to give any spoilers but the biggest involve the horse/cliff scene, the reason for the Indian attack, his son, and the outcome of his final meeting with Fitzgerald). However, It does a good job of capturing the essence of the real story of his survival and arduous journey to confront those that left him to die. In fact, there are some aspects of the real story that were more incredulous than depicted in the movie, like the distance he had to crawl for survival using his hands to propel him. It’s an amazing true story of survival.

I enjoy Hollywood movies and television shows. Obviously, I don't watch truly grotesque garbage like the Kardashians or anything with Danny Glover in it, for example. Watching them does not turn me into a liberal. Because I'm smart enough to separate the real from the fantasy.

And the internet connection comparison is apt. If you have Cox, Comcast, or Time Warner, you are still funding the Left.

Then conservatives should start having a prominent place in entertainment. Until then, this is what it is.

"Revenant" is a visual masterpiece of movie making art, shot and scored exceptionally well, most parts acted exceptionally well. It's biggest drawback, and what I found irritating, was the changes they made to well documented history.

The Big Short is compelling story with fantastic dialog, and with decent acting from people I wouldn't have expected it from. It's biggest drawback, and what I found irritating, was the changes they made to well documented history.

If I had to pick one to see in the theater it would be "Revenant" as the medium lends itself far more to the space. Pick up "The Big Short" as a rental when it comes out, you won't miss anything by seeing it on a small screen.

The big short is entertaining and does a good job of explaining the products and identifying key individuals, however it’s presented from the leftist perspective and fails to depict one of the main reasons for the crisis - government intervention in the mortgage underwriting market, which caused the banks to reduce credit/capital requirements in an attempt to increase minority and lower income home ownership. If that wonderful democratic initiative had never happened, the loans underlying the mortgage securities would never have defaulted in such amounts as to cause the crisis. Go see the Revenant.

Hugh Glass....survived that. Only to die 1-3 years later at the hand of Native American Indians....

He had to be one tough man....

I agree eventhough I have not seen the movie yet. I have no doubt that Leo Dicaprio happens to be one hell of an actor of his generation.

I first saw him on the TV Show Growing Pains but what really impressed me was the first movie “This Boy’s Life” with Robert De Niro but his really impressive role was his character he played Arnie Grape in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”. I like that he like to play intense roles.

Yes he is a liberal, but no one can’t take away his abilities of being a hell of an actor. I hope and pray he gets the Oscars that he deserved.

Lots of hypothermia, but the best movie I have seen in many months. But i saw it in a faraway place on a TV set. I’ll see it in a theater next month when I am back in the USSA. I am certain that it will still be playing.
