Luckily for us, we were relative newcomers to CA and had bought earthquake insurance. We only replaced what we truly lost. Then earthquake insurance went up from $395/year to $1,300/year. There WAS a crack in our foundation, but it was shallow/cosmetic. My son’s teacher lost her house......cracked right up the middle.......it was on a cut and fill lot. Forever after, until we left California, when we would get a temblor in the night, my heart would race. Haven’t felt one since we moved a bit east.

We eventually moved a LOT East. Bryan got a job in Virginia, but the
owner of the plant turned out to be a crook, so Bryan got a job in Ohio.

I was still in California, packing and cleaning up the house for when I
painted the entire inside and got all our stuff to Bryan’s rental in Ohio
on 27 acres with a lake, forest, and a stream.

Bryan proceeded to climb the corporate ladder at his new job, and we just
took it from there. I had shipped our cats to him at the rental, and two
of our cars to a pick-up point in West Virginia. I also shipped our three
motorcycles. It took us a while to get both of the cars to the pole barn
at the rental, and we rented a trailer for the bikes.

We didn’t live at the rental for long. Bryan found a house for sale (this
one), and we’ve been very happy here ever since. Only six acres, but that
is good enough for us.

True words...and almost to the word, my exact thoughts and feelings.

I fear there is no cure for this sickness that is among us, now, though.

It's not a fatal disease, but it's going to ravage us before we get better.

Yes...but how many times do we make that linguistic mistake?

Or is it a journalistic mistake?

Whatever, you are correct.

But the gist of the message is the same...Cuba Gooding and a large, large percentage of blacks, their panaceas and platitudes notwithstanding, do not give one whit about a honkie, other than what they can get.

Sad, particularly when they try to convince us that their feelings are still our fault.

He was in his 20s then and in his 40s now. He grew up.

And he's not saying "I supported OJ even though I thought he was guilty."

He may actually have believed OJ was innocent back then -- and believed it as automatically and unthinkingly as others assumed he was guilty.

Yes, it’s a nice place, a bit too big for a childless couple with four cats and no
living relatives but Bryan’s one brother, Sister-in-law, and their kids, who are
still living in Southern California, but it does suit us well.

I hope that you and your family are well and happy, and may God Bless you
and yours, always.
