If Republicans choose anyone other than Trump or Cruz, then what did we win? The GOP-controlled Congress almost caucuses with the Democrats now. If we “choose” a Progressive as our nominee, then we have already lost everything.

At that point, just bring on the socialism so I can stop worrying about things like preserving freedom and a market economy.

Trump and Cruz have this just about wrapped up, so if something “happens” and we get Rubio or Bush, then I’m done caring. Give me my free stuff and give me lots of it before the credit card maxxes out.

Trump or Cruz, I am OK. Anyone else, and I start looking to build a principled third Party. I might go Rubio, but that would be as far as I go. I cannot go establishment GOP anymore. They have lost touch with people like me.

You’re probably right some of this antagonism on both sides is I am guessing GOP manipulation.

“Are there any freepers who don’t support either Trump or Cruz?”

Now THERE’S an interesting question!

I’ll take that under consideration. Thank you.

I’m where you are now with the poles reversed.
Trump is my first choice but I will happily pull
the lever for Cruz if he is in the general election.

If Cruz or Trump is my decision to make in the primary election, it’ll be Trump. This china shop we have needs a bull, a negotiator, and a president who refuses to budge from his principles, for better or worse.

The question I answered was, “Will you ‘enthusiastically’ support Trump or Cruz when they win the nomination?”

I answered, “Yes.”

So, what Exactly are you talking about in suggesting I am a “concern troll” (your words)?

What if Cruz (or Trump) MUST do that like Reagan in 80, though?

I disagree. Jeb, Kasich, and Krispy Kreme are unacceptable.

Luckily, they have about as much chance of getting nominated as Kim Jong Un has of becoming the spokesman for “Weight Watchers”. . .

My preference is Ted Cruz. I want him to be the one to appoint Supreme Court justices.

You are so right!

The problem will be the GOPe in the Senate, even with a Pub POTUS I doubt they have the will to end the filibuster.

The Trump phenomenon fascinates me. I know he’s tapped into the righteous anger of millions upon millions of Americans and I think he knows that and has taken it to heart. I think he may even be a bit shocked by it all. Is he a conservative? I don’t know.

I have the same doubts.

However, he is very smart and is a person that gets things done. I think he might be alright if he has a conservative VP and Pub controlled Congress.

Do we have to sign a Loyalty Pledge like they made Trump do?

Cruz is my first choice, Trump is my second choice and none of the above is my third choice.

I hope Cruz takes it...think he’ll be great. But, if not, then Trump’s best chance is with Cruz as VP to bring along the hard right. This combination would be close to unbeatable. Trump is a smart guy...would see the merits in this constituency merger. Plus, Cruz could help him navigate the shark infested waters of Congress and be an ‘Apprentice’ in-training for the big job down the road.

Together, they could really start cleaning out the shit house in Washington, which is truly needed for the country!

I live in California, so my vote for President is effectively immaterial. Hence and although I am not a "Cruz supporter," if Trump wins the nomination, I will vote for the most conservative person on the ballot, but not Trump. I believe Trump to be a fraud, a despotic caricature of conservatives for the purpose of disparaging same as autocrats to be feared, raising the negatives of conservatives in general, and getting his long term family friend Hillary elected (even their kids pal around together).

I think that's been the plan all along. Maybe that's why his old pal Bubba put him up to running.

I can’t see that as possibility as one will be the others VP choice

We did have Carson supporters. But they don’t seem too active at the moment - although they were good people. Outside of those three, I haven’t heard anything about the other candidates. Very different from other years when we seemed to be inundated with activists from the candidates. Maybe they learned a lesson?

Nope, we live in the USA. Just curious especially with all the ‘vile’ thrown around here lately!

I have from the beginning said my position with these 2. Trump/Cruz to win. After they win the White House that Trump will retire after a few years and turn the reigns over to Cruz. Win Win for everyone.

I agree that they are about at the bottom of the “R” list. But they still are nowhere as bad as the “D” candidates.
