For thin-skinned college students, we have nobody to blame but ourselves
The Washington Post ^ | November 28, 2015 | Kathleen Parker

It would be easy to call protesting college students crybabies and brats for pitching hissy fits over hurt feelings, but this likely would lead to such torrents of tearful tribulation that the nation's university system would have to shut down for a prolonged period of grief counseling.

Besides, it would be insensitive.

Instead, let me be the first to say: it's not the students fault. These serial tantrums are direct results of our Everybody Gets a Trophy culture and an educational system that, for the most part, no longer teaches a core curriculum, including history, government and the Bill of Rights.

The students simply don't know any better.

The first sign of the epidemic of sensitivity we're witnessing was when parents and teachers were instructed never to tell Johnny that he's a *bad boy,* but that he's acting like a *bad boy.*

The new moniker for these types of students is as snow flakes. Honestly, that is what they are called. A snow flake is the typical student who needs a safe space every five minutes.

For years the schools have been teaching “students” a steady diet of victimology, so no everyone thinks they are a victim of “da man,” of course, “da man” is “da white man.”

They aren’t thin skinned. They are lazy, spoiled brats use to getting every thing they want and scream when told no.

IIRC Obola has a policy where if someone posts a suggestion to him on the White House website and it gets something like 50,000 "thumbs up" responses Obola himself will comment on the proposal on that website.

I suggest that someone post something like "because violence just begets more violence and because without guns there would *be* no more violence I propose that the White House, and the grounds around it,be declared a gun free zone" on that website.

Wow, even the WashPost is condemning the "everybody-gets-a-trophy" culture and the wussified generation that it produced.

There was a reason for “bullies.” They forced people how to stand up to them and defend themselves. Now we need “safe spaces” where the “bullies” can’t “offend” you. It’s all a crock unless you enjoy being a sissy.

Parker is a phony conservative who has lost her credibility. She’s trying to rehabilitate her counterfeit credentials—so she can later attack the presumptive nominee. Parker is a liberal just like David Brooks and Smurkonish. Hey, it’s a living. But with those three, it’s over. We get it.

They are cry-bullies.
They cry because it makes their view the more moral one in our society, while bullying people because they have the right to be passive-aggressive aggressors in our society if they are crying.
They can assault you for hurting their feelings, but you can’t express contrary views because that is hurting them.

These Social Justice Warriors are adopting the playbook of Islam. Any criticism is equal to actual assault, with the right to any violence up to and including killing the critic. But they are always to the credit and never to be blamed for what goes wrong, and lying for the cause is A-OK.

The widdle “snowflakes” are a bunch of ninnies, who want to be allowed to say and do whatever they want to, but everyone else better agree with them, or they’ll terminate them.

When I was a kid, if i screwed up I knew it. If I didn't know it, someone would help me understand. Sometimes that required education. While a board of education was not employed often, the switch was used to get me to switch my bad thinking and behaviour to something better, when needed.

If you got first place, you earned it.

If you came in last, you earned that, too.

1-2-3 got ribbons, 4 & 5 in big horse shows, but if you didn't win. place, or show, you just weren't a winner.

We were not helicoptered over, we played in the mud, the creek, we occasionally stepped in animal dung with our bare feet (ick).

We didn't have all that safety gear, but we had been told to use some common sense until we had some. We got spanked for climbing riverbanks and diving off of bridges. Very few of us didn't make it to be old enough to drive, even though some of us didn't live long past that. The rest went to the funeral and learned...

We were told not to intentionally hurt people's feelings. On occasion we did, and had ours hurt, too. Sometimes that got sorted out with a good old fashioned fistfight, sometimes not, but when someone had 'won' (something that didn't involve killing the other guy, just making your point), you usually shook hands and came out of the experience either friends or with a little more respect for the other guy.

We were well loved but seldom mollycoddled.

Those 'bad' things that happened to us were all part of growing up, part of being a kid--something kids aren't much allowed to do any more. They are expected to be little adults, to know about the birds and the bees before they grow hair 'down there', and aren't allowed to just play without someone making some big deal over the toys they choose, or how they play, or the roles they adopt while playing--and Freud forbid they actually point a finger at each other and say "Bang!".

No wonder by the time the little nippers turn 20 they are flavorless jello. That is what their parents wanted.

These delicate snow flakes know it’s all a scam and a show. They are not offended. I guarantee they listen to Kanye West, NWA, Jello Biafra, and read the works of Huey Newton and Bill Ayeres. They got a sniff of the power their temper tantrums provide and they got hooked like a junkie taking his first hit.
