Set aside the cost of a PCP rifle that I may wish to purchase, what are the necessary additional items I will need to service that rifle and what are the estimated costs?

For the rifle,practically nothing,a few “O” rings. BUT,you need a tank to fill from,well not technically,but practically.
A hand pump will work, but you would be too tired to shoot.
You can buy scuba tanks fairly cheap, but they are limited in their PSI,so you don’t get a lot of fills off of them, but that’s how I started out.
A carbon fiber wrapped “air hog” tank is the way to go,if you can afford it,much smaller than a scuba tank, plus many more fill, given the level of PSI you can fill them to.
My recommendation would be the scuba tank, inexpensive and you still can get a good number of refills out of it.Downside is if you are going places,it’s a little bulky to take along, but not bad.
What rifle has your fancy?
That Swedish air gun company, name escapes me now,has one with an intergal pump in the forearm,so you could fill at home,be out, take 5 or 6 shots, give a few pumps on the forearm and be right back at full pressure.
