I was sent to the supermarket to buy some green beans for Thanksgiving. On the way out I decided to look at the computer magazines in the magazine rack which I have not done in years. This rack is medium size. I figured I would see no computer magazines (computers are passe) but that I would see magazines devoted to smartphones and iphones. But I saw nothing.
What I did see surprised me. 12 gun magazines, maybe one or two were buying guides. I also saw a model drone buying guide. On the cover was a photo of a helicopter type drone with four rotors. I saw four wedding magazines. There were other magazines I did not make a mental note of.
Why so many gun magazines? My guess is they are slanted towards new gun owners. On a crucial and expensive gun purchase a magazine with good photos will do better than the internet for helping buyers? My guess at least.

Yeah but if a DI heard me call a rifle a “Gun”, I might have to shoulder fire a 105 Howitzer for penance.
He was a hard ass...but fair.
“I have a few for the rifles and pistols, but I canât afford the tax stamp needed to own the âGunâ I really want.”
The tax stamp is *only* $200.
I laughed out loud. Priceless!
**My fave mag is âSurplus Military Firearmsâ.***
I’ve got a few of these but I mostly have (from the 1980s) FIREPOWER, GUN TESTS, PISTOLERO, GUNS FOR HOME DEFENSE, and quite a few more, along with articles torn out of other magazines going back forty five years.
Excellent choice! My Kimber Raptor Ultra was my go to EDC until lost when my canoe capsized.
I'd hate to part with it but would the C3 be more conducive to my smaller hand?
As a side note, I've been considering maybe trading the P-226 for their P229 Equinox 40 cal if I can get a fair deal............
I'd appreciate your thoughts........
We are partial to the stainless models.

I carried a 228 for a number of years. It’s the little sister to the 226. I don’t have large hands either, so you may want to check the 228 out if you like the 226.
The C3 is built to standard compact 1911 dimensions.
I’m a big fan of the 220, but it’s a single stack unlike the 226 and 229.
Sig has come out with a revamped grip, the E2, which I have on a 227 (high cap .45) and it fits my hands, which are not large. This is available on the 226 and 229 models now.

Who buys magazines any more?
Awww a little recoil but it’s a stopper for sure.....:o)
Mrs Lurker will love it...:
Stay safe !
She doesn’t know it yet but she’s getting her first AR for Christmas. It’ll be a poodle shooter, but knowing her she’ll want a 10 before long.
No, I won’t be pink. Purple maybe...LOL
Our best to you and yours.

.......she will love that !!!
.... Saving my spare nickels for a Mauser from Montana Rifle Company. 30-06, stainless etc.... All I want, trying to do the one trick pony rifle for the lower 48. 30-06 w 110gr, 165gr and 220gr covers a lot of game.
Loving the hunt, going simple in my old age. Less on gear and gadgets and more on the adventure and challenges.
Stay Safe !
“Gun magazines dominate the supermarket magazine rack”
Glorious.
Those are some gorgeous boomsticks. The Masuer action is certainly a classic and that caliber will serve you well for anything in North America, except maybe the great bears.
I bid you peace, old friend.

Not trying to be a tempter, but Cabela’s has a nice selection of Kimber 380s and 9mms. (I’m in the market for a pocket pistol myself). Kimber makes some really nice stuff.
Good start...
