All I can tell is, I can eat Russell Stover chocolates well past any hint of hunger. But I can do the same with Healthy Choice Fudge Bars. Does that count in your theory?

People overeat because of taste, not hunger.

While there may be some truth to that, for others it's about not feeling "full."

Some people eat until they feel "full" which causes them to overeat. That's not normal, and that's a delay in the brain getting the "full" signal.

I used to be one of those people. It takes discipline to stop eating and wait for the brain to catch-up and get the "I'm full" feeling. Sometimes that's 10 minutes, sometimes it's 20 minutes later. Point is, it's a delay in getting the "full signal" to the brain and some of us have to learn how to manage it properly to have a healthy relationship with food.

The hormone that controls the full/hungry signal is called Cholecystokinin. In some people this hormone is decreased or takes longer for the body to make. Learning how to manage your "hungry" signals is key. "Speedy" eaters have it the worst and need to develop the discipline to slow down while eating.

Losing weight is all about regulating food intake, eating the right things, and getting exercise. Works every time it's tried. Been there, done that more times than I can count (and am doing it again.)

When my wife gets on her pseudo-scientific diet info bandwagon I go to McD’s for lunch in protest. I tell her I’d be a lot skinnier if she would stop talking about that garbage.

I always assume those who talk about “the gut” do so because they don’t know there are separate organs in there with different functions (unless they are talking about the area that used to look like a six-pack but now looks like a keg - that’s the proper use for the term “the gut.”

We used to call that 'front loading'.

My in laws were 'old school' formal, more rules than you could shake a stick at!
One rule was, no one eats until the old man takes the first bite!

To prevent problems we would always front load, before a meal.

Eat probiotic yhogurts and naturally fermented veggies and the carb cravings will fade

How about people like you stop telling everyone what they should eat? What are you, a government nutrition type or something?

No, it has nothing to do with it. I saw a sign today, “Warning, eating chocolate will make your clothes shrink”. Got a good laugh.
