I pray that child's begining not be a burden on them, but a blessing to the child to aspire them to follow him who's begining is shadowed in this story.

Bless the poor mother for not killing her child and putting the baby in the Creche instead of the trash bin.

I see stories of people calling this a miracle and a blessing.
The real story is an woman abandoning her baby.

Like me many see the story about the child being saved while you see the story about a woman doing something bad and needing to be punished.

Nowhere did I write the woman should be punished. Stop putting a spin on my words.

My point is the woman is abandoning her child. It’s the reality of it.

Well, as places to abandon an otherwise healthy infant, this is a pretty good one. I’m assuming the church is heated.

Yeah, and does the father know about it? Why doesn’t the father come forward? Does the mother know the father? Does she even know his name? Maybe the church should try to find him.

“I see stories of people calling this a miracle and a blessing. The real story is a woman abandoning her baby..”
The real story, IMHO... is a woman who ignored all societal pressure to “rid herself of a burden”. The real story is that she chose to carry this precious child and probably delivered this innocent life on her own. The real story is that in her darkest hour of uncertainty, she chose God’s house to place her child.. knowing he would be found and taken care of. My hope and prayers for this child is that a loving family be chosen to parent and raise him.... to see him as a true blessing.

My wife works at two Parishes as DRE/Youth Minister. As you would expect, she has to handle counseling for when a teen gets pregnant. She always starts her teen/parent session with “A baby is always a blessing, sometimes the timing is just not right.” Never fails to set everyone at ease and helps put things in the right perspective. In this case, which you so beautifully commented on in your post, the mother of the child still found solace in that special day 2000 years ago when Joy came back into the world.

Or maybe part of the reason the mother chose this approach is that it would not be good for the child for the father to be found.
