So anything that is released with ANY sense of adventure or fun will be a blockbuster. Hopefully this new SW film will be good - I miss the "movies".
I’m not paying to see it. The previews show you everything. Feel like I’ve already seen it.
I watched the first Star Wars 28 times - in the theater - when it came out. It played at the same theater for months if not over a year.
I’ll wait until this one comes out on Blue Ray.
The day of a movie being that big is long gone. Actors are not the “gods” they were in the 1930’s. Musicians are not the “gods” they were in the 60’s and 70’s. Movies are not the top of the entertainment heap that they once were either.
But it should be a good watch.
If they fed ewoks into a wood chipper I might consider going.
If it does it will be without *my* support.
Remember how Seth Rogen's tweet against Presidential candidate Ben Carson did enormous damage to the success of Steve Jobs and Quentin Tarantino may be facing the same fate by hurting the chances of Hateful Eight?
DIVERSITY will be shoved down our throats in this movie.
Here’s how I see it:
The REAL test will be those who see the first showings. What the theater-goers say on their Twitter or their Facebook page, or in emails to their friends will set the trend. If, seconds after they leave the theater, the majority are tweeting “It SUCKS!”....that’ll get passed around faster than the top speed of the Millenium Falcon. Same thing if it’s really good.
Can it beat Fast & Furious 7 is the Big Question????
When I saw the first STAR WARS movie back in 1977, I wondered why a technology advanced civilization would need light sabres when a ray gun would be more effective. Even a ray gun from the 1930s FLASH GORDON series would be better than a light sabre.
God made man.
Col COLT and Theodore Maiman(Laser inventor) made them equal.
I am a Star Wars junkie, and yes, I even liked Jar-Jar, but no thanks. I have no interest in seeing this. I will watch it when it’s free on Showtime.
IDK, still not much of a SW’s fan. Ho-hum.
It can have a huge opening. But if it sucks, it will die a quick death.
Adjusted for inflation, it still has to make well over $1billion.
I remember the number of people who paid to go see a different movie just to see the "Phantom Menace" trailer -- and many of them walked out before the movie because they had to get back to work.
... And look how that turned out.
But I got a good feeling about this.
(And Jon Voight, too).
