I doubt the ACS errors make that much difference.
This a poll of ‘anyone’ who claims to be an adult voter, with a subset (which they don’t give the results for) of those who ‘say’ they are registered voters.
Throw in wording and ordering of questions with McClatchy’s noted bias and it’s just something to use to write a story.

Doubtless, though, Bernie and Hillary have been cocooned by the media so people have a higher opinion of them now than common sense would predict.

Yes and silly season will go on for a couple of more months we get really close to the primaries.

Yeah generally it does, but we still have a lot of narrowing of the field to do and this time it will last through the first primary’s. IIRC there is a break between then and super Tuesday, and during that short break is where you will see a lot of changes..as they analyze internal polling and decide to either go into debt or quit.

Sampling methods matter.

I would love to see Bernie Sanders beat Shrillzary for the nomination.

Might just happen if Obama does not "call off his f***ing dogs".

I believe that the fabled “tipping point” where people who realize they can vote for someone to get free stuff outnumber the people who actually work to provide the wealth to pay for it, has come and gone, and done it far sooner than anyone thought it would.

There was a time when I looked at a candidate like Bernie Sanders and said “No way the electorate will ever select this guy.”

But no more.

After an anti-American scumbag like Obama was elected...TWICE...it made me realize we were lost. If it had been just once, I likely would not have come to that conclusion.

But the fact he is considered a viable candidate, and an absolute train wreck hive of scum and villainy called Hillary Clinton is also well in the running, well...we are dead as a Republic.

It means the electorate does not have any sense of shared values and morals that would rule out those candidates. So, anything will go.

Hillary is a dishonest lying shrew affiliated with Wall Street elites not the USA. I have much bigger problem with her lack of ethics and perpetuating a Clinton dynasty that represents much more bottom line harm to America than Bernie Sanders.

I don’t support Sanders but he and Ron Paul have had consistent beliefs for decades unlike the Clintons whose only beliefs are there to make themselves richer and more powerful for the moment, modified only by the direction of the daily wind and media.

Of course it does.
Here’s why I don’t think ACS errors are significant.

I led a regular census crew in 2010 in a very conservative very rural area and we had no problem whatsoever getting good results.
The ACS is more obtrusive and I assume reflects a bias just as you say but I don’t think it is much.
Just my opinion.
I add that other groups- ones with a large segment of criminals in them- would be under-represented too IMO.

Exactly. Who *does* fill out ACS? Those not paying attention or those who don’t mind giving personal info to the gov. Sounds like a good demographic for Bernie.

Either this poll is complete BS or this country is in deep trouble.

So many homeless, so many out of work, health insurance lost, etc. ... people are desperate to feel better and to vote for someone, however misguided, who gives the impression he will fix it for them.

That's the Sanders appeal, from my perspective.

If the poll is true, then the Democrats almost have to abandon the Wildebeest...and I cannot imagine that happening.

As far as Sanders himself - good luck once Trump turns his turret towards you.

We just disagree on the size of the error in ACS.

Recent polls around the world have had an anti-conservative error. IMO it likely is caused by a faulty methodology for sampling mobile phones.
