So the real reasons come out. Nothing to do with anything technical or your “nephew with the college degree.” Why did you feel you had to lie to us on your first reply?

Nephew with a college degree told me so...that’s pretty pathetic!

I have a custom built PC with a Linux OS. I support Gates in no way shape or form. At least I hope I don’t. Any application I buy I research it to see if Microsoft had anything to do with it.

> 94% of Smartphone Industry Profit In 2015...

Was the prior number only 90%? That 6 line has kicked booty.

I agree.. I have a lumia 1520 and love it — it has a better screen, better resolution, better camera and longer battery life than any Android or Apple phone. Top value for money

I posted to you the benchmark tests which showed that the Lumia 1520 gets the same expert ranking (9) as the iPhone 6 but a higher user rating -- 9.8 compared to 8.7

That's a clear winner that the Lumia is a better phone

Either way — real users who have a Lumia rate it higher than the iPhone 6

The figure was down last year because LG popped in with a profitable phone line for a while, then dropped back into the sea of commodity phone profit chasers. Apple has always had, since about 2011, had the majority of not just the smartphone profit share, but ALL mobile phone maker profits.

That's not a comparison. The real users who have an iPhone 6 on there rated the iPhone 6 with all 10s. . . and if you looked at the iPhone 6s or either of the iPhone 6 plus, which were the real competitor's to your Lumia 1520s you'd find higher reviewer ratings than your Lumia (which the iPhone models actually had, with better specs in most categories as well). From what I saw on Phonearena, the Lumia did not suffer from the drag of low rating faux reviews from Android users that afflicted the iPhones.

By the way, just having more pixels is not the measure of being a "better camera." Nor is adding more resolution way beyond the capability of the human eye to discern the hallmark of a "better screen." In fact, doing so can be a huge performance drag on the system in requiring the processor or graphics system to move too many pixels around, slowing everything down, for no reasonable mobile device purpose. As the reviews noted, the AMOLED results in screens that have "super-saturated" color, not true to real-life, while the iPhones have high-rated color gamuts.

The iPhones have been selected by professional photographers, such as even the National Geogrpahic Magazine, for their use, where as the nokia Lumia has not. . . because it is not in the same league. The ability to take huge pictures is not what they are looking for. The ability to take EXCELLENT photographs is what they are looking for. The two top rated cameras lines in that area are the iPhone 6 and 6s and the Samsung Galaxy phones, and the Lumias are not even in the running any more, although they did break some ground in light gathering ability, and stabilization when they first came out several years ago.

But users who have not used an iPhone, who are Lumia centric and rating it, are usually users who have come from the Android user fold or previous Windows phones, and anything that has a consistent UI is going to gain a better rating from those users.

The other thing to point out, Cronos, is that the Lumia 1520 is a phone that came out in 2013, and for 2013 it was a very good phone, but technology moves on and gets superseded by better technology. What was rated a good phone in 2013 is not a better phone in 2015, and what the user reviewed as a great phone in their user reviews in 2013 would be considered woefully lacking if reviewed currently.

iPhones have been selected by those who don’t know how much better Lumias are — in most specs except number of apps. Especially battery life and camera. They don’t have a big app story, that is true and if one wants to use a lot of apps on one’s phone, then an Apple or Android makes sense. But for pure business purposes, the Lumia knocks everyone

iPhones have been selected by those who don't know how much better Lumias are -- in most specs except number of apps. Especially battery life and camera. They don't have a big app story, that is true and if one wants to use a lot of apps on one's phone, then an Apple or Android makes sense. But for pure business purposes, the Lumia knocks everyone

Don't you even read the actual lists of specifications beyond camera and screen pixel counts? PhoneArena listed far more radio bands, far more abilities higher bluetooth levels, etc, for the iPhone than for any of the Lumias. Benchmarks blow the also-ran Lumias and all other smartphones out of the water. There simply is no "much better specs" except in the least important area of over-hyped screen and camera. The Lumia cameras are not even mentioned in professional reviews. . . where the iPhones are, along with Samsung Galaxy cameras. Here is a professional photographer's review of the new iPhone 6s plus' camera:

iPhone 6s Camera Review in Switzerland

His conclusion is that it is the best smartphone camera in the world. Among professionals, he is not alone.

As for business purposes, if what you claim is true, why do the vast majority of businesses opt for the iPhone instead of the Lumia? Your arguments just don't stand up to facts or the real world.

Can’t take the facts that a Windows phone is better than an iPhone? So trot out the marketing data — and yes, Apple is the best at marketing — who else would get people to pay a markup of 40%

Can't take the facts that a Windows phone is better than an iPhone? So trot out the marketing data -- and yes, Apple is the best at marketing -- who else would get people to pay a markup of 40%

Cronos, you have presented ZERO facts except unsupported opinions. . . yours and a few users from a single source. It doesn't help that the source of your secondary opinions professional reviewers deny your basic premise. . . giving the Apple iPhone better ratings than the Nokia Lumia phone. . . and you had to cheat by using a review of a non-contemporary Lumia from 2013, using an older technology review from a much earlier model, in which Nokia DID have some cutting edge technology for the period, in a two year old review which was rated in comparison to other two year old phones, to compare to a year LATER iPhone 6 (2014) reviews, which was rated highest in comparison to all other 2014 phones. . . and also ignoring Phonearena's latest iPhone 6S reviews which rated it highest in relation to all 2015 phones, and even higher at 9.2 the 9 rating of the iPhone 6. Technology and specs get better every year, but you claim the Nokia Lumia of 2013 is better than the iPhones, despite all the evidence to the contrary . . . and you used smoke and mirrors. You did this hoping you wouldn't be caught in your smoke and mirrors trickery. I caught you.

I, on the other hand, have presented raw data from comparative bench marks, reviewers from multiple sources, and FACTS, not opinions, which can be tested and replicated, unlike pliable opinions from people who have NOT used both devices.

I have shown you that the iPhones, by all objective sources and standards, are overall superior in testing to the Nokia Lumia phones and provided sources that showed the testing and why. You offer only your opinions and a few self-selected, personal, and very subjective opinions from people who do not use both devices so are not qualified to do comparative reviews.

Your unsubstantiated opinion is trumped by hard fact. You are the one who seems to be incapable of "taking" or accepting facts or reality. The canard that Apple is merely good at marketing is just a lame excuse used by people like you whose favorite product is being trounced by an Apple product to avoid facing reality.

It has nothing to do with "marketing" or magically convincing huge numbers of customers to buy something against their best interest into paying a markup of 40% over what you claim is a superior product. If all these products were so superior, they'd sell. They do not. Ergo, they are not superior. They fail to be "superior" in some basic way.

As for your 40% mark-up claim. The unlocked new Lumias actually sold for MORE on introduction than an unlocked new iPhone does. So much for your claim about mark-ups. The Lumias could not sustain the pricing asked by their customer demand and were quickly discounted, iPhones have never had a problem in meeting that asking price because the customers find they are superior and please the customers enough to satisfy the customers and they agree they are worth the price asked.

Subjective opinions by a small, self-selected group, such as your "users ratings" on Phonearena, do not prove anything. . . especially when compared to similar small panel of self-selected opinion "user" reviews which includes a good number of faux negative reviews for the other phone you are claiming has a lower rating.

Now you can keep dancing as long as you like, but the facts are those. You simply do not have the facts to back up your claims. You are trying to do ballroom dancing with a dirty mop wearing an old pair of soiled coveralls. It just makes you look foolish. . . and you shouldn't do ballroom dancing with tap shoes.
