Strange -—that a Christian Church would urge you to be Christian.

Went to the church’s website and saw no mention of increased security.

Sounds like membership is down there. From 8000 down to 125 because of gay marriage. Could probably just pick up the phone and get right to the pastors.

I live near Seattle. I think about 8% of people go to church regularly.

My BIL comes up to visit. We go every Sunday, and invite him to go with us to our modern service. Dress is casual. Too casual for him.

“I'm not going - that's just not right! Wearing jeans and a T-shirt to church!!!”

This from a guy that MIGHT make it to an Easter service once every few years!

I don’t expect you to respond as you normally don’t respond on post base upon your history.

But why didn’t you asked your church administration? It isn’t that hard to do is it?
Your church may have been the largest in the nation at something around 8,000 members
but what is it today? I bet some members are aware of the policy change.

My favorite Biblical quote right now:

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

(Jules Winnfield Translation)

I did notice quite a few new faces today. Same as after 9-11.

Unfortunately our church is a “gun free zone.”

It was Christian Life Church on Bush River Road. We attended there for about a year and always returned for their Christmas plays even after moving to another church. We have moved to North Carolina and attend a small church with no obvious security . . but I’m quite sure those hunters are probably carrying since my hunter husband does.

That’s what I was thinking .. a show of force .. maybe the security has been there all along .. but a sudden show of force could mean that some warning was sent out; possibly to churches in certain areas.

I think it’s good to let the killers know you are there to stop them .. which means they may change their mind about attacking them.

If I recall correctly, several years ago we began having attacks upon churches .. and maybe they ramped up their security then.

I tried to get that started at my church, but if they did, I didn’t notice. Maybe that’s a good thing; and they have their security in plain clothes. We have several military and police who attend there; and I’ve noticed lately that I have not seen any uniforms anymore .. interesting.

We have security in our church, but they are part of the congregation and not obvious.

Them plus the many who carry concealed...

I went to a church in Federal Way this morning. Everything was normal there.

Yes, because you should only “be Christian” when its convenient and things are going well

Our church's security is primarily its Deacons and Ushers; almost all of are LTC and well trained. The pastor knows that we are seated with consideration of our fields of fire.

Don't yet know about our new pastor; the old one was armed even while in the pulpit...

No security at Mass, unless you count our several concealed carry members.

It will eventually settle in that Islam will attack mostly the non-Catholic cafirs.
