Very Strange Occurrence At Our Church This Morning

Posted on 11/15/2015 4:24:56 PM PST by Vinylly

This morning as we entered our church we were met by armed security guards. We also noticed a security guard in the back door. They were dress in black uniforms with a white word 'security' on their backs. We don't know how many were in the church. So I am wondering, is this a precaution to what had happened in Paris? We have several Persian Christian refugees that are members in our church and was wondering if these security officials were there for the Persian's protection? I am wondering if any others on this website witnessed the same precaution this morning at your church. Our church is the First Presbyterian Church in Seattle.

Why not ask your pastor or someone else in the chain?

Sounds like someone wants to keep his flock safe.

We generally have at least one off-duty cop that is armed and wearing a "Security" shirt. I'd imagine that, despite it being a no-no to carry in Church in Mississippi, that there are a few "backup" weapons if SHTF.

A killer in Pulp Fiction used the quote prior to killing his targets. The last line is in Ezekiel, when asked where the other part came from the Producer admitted it had been lifted from another movie.

Never really thought about Peter and the sword. He must have been skilled to be able to cut off someone’s ear. He could have easily missed and put it between his eyes.

Everyone in our church has to be let in individually through a locked door. This was a post-9/11 practice insisted on by the American Embassy here in Oslo. If they are strangers the greeters access the threat.

Heard a sermon on wars and rumors of war from gospel of Mark. How appropriate.

Yeah..we have been looking for a new one..but this kind of sealed the deal. I wrote to the lead pastor about the incorrect placement of the American flag on the stage 2 weeks back..still the wrong way yesterday.

I applaud you for being aware and proactive regarding your pastor’s shortcomings. It’s hard to change churches, but there are times when it’s just necessary — especially when it’s your spiritual growth that’s at risk. I pray you find a good one soon. It may turn out to be an easier transition than you think. You’ll know you’re home when you get there. God bless.
