Would like to hear what fellow FR gamers think of the new Fallout 4 game.
I tried Fallout 3 but didn't care for it. I'm not a fan of open worlds or RPG's. I prefer linear games, like BioShock, Uncharted, Dead Space, etc. Is Fallout 4 living up to the hype? Is it open world like Fallout 3?
Thats from back in my day there.
It’s gonna inhale mass quantities of time.
Great so far. Feels like Fallout on roids, looks like Bioshock Infinite.
Worth the wait and $$$.
Looking forward to the second playthrough so I can minigun Piper outside Diamond city and avoid her entirely.
Lydia she ain’t...
I remember when that game came out, it was amazing.
good times....i miss them.
Fallout 4 Ping.
Other Freepers have, and it sounds Amazing and Ton of Fun!
just watched a fallout vid on youtube, looks like it is a bit like stalker- but seems like it has too much dialogue for my taste- game looks like bit of am ix between dues ex and stalker
I think I would prefer stalker- as it has more of an apocalyptic radiation wasteland feel to it and no robots- just weird mutated creatures— But I would probably get fallout 4 as it’s quite similar to stalker, and stalker isn’t making any new games anymore- it seems-
I must confess a weakness for creepy Russian horror-survival games like that. Loved all of the Stalker series, especially with the mods. But all I play nowadays is EVE Online.
I like checkers.
Yeah, I want to play Street Fighter II again.
I’m only a few hours into Fallout 4 so it’s early yet. So far, it starts out slow. My trigger finger and alertness are on high, expecting the enemies and difficulties encountered on other first person shooters. That seems to be an overkill at this point. But Fallout 3 was just as slow, New Vegas a little better.
As to graphics, my video card is mid range of the specs (and I have pretty strong card) and the graphics are okay. Bethesda has said they didn’t go full tilt toward graphics in the game because other uses of processor power did more for the game than superb graphics.
If you don’t like free range RPGs, you won’t like Fallout.
As another poster has pointed out, you really need to play STALKER. All of them. There are three or four different game titles which all fit together but can be played separately. Playing as a Russian, you might freak at first when you have to kill NATO troops, heh, but that goes along with the high intensity gameplay of what I think is the best FPS/action game out there today.
A bonus for playing Stalker is that since it has been out for quite a while, if you can find it for sale, it might be really cheap. I think I only paid twelve dollars for one of the Stalker titles.
I am about 8 hours into it and totally addicted. I believe it approaches Masterpiece category, from what I have seen thus far. It is too post apocalyptic America what Red Daed Redemption was to Westerns. Great music, interesting story, so far. When you first exit that vault, it is pretty danged cool... Graphics are pretty good, and I have seen a few buggy things (not counting the radroaches), such as a character is obviously talking, but no audio, and out of sync for a just a few seconds here and there. Not game killers, though. The weapon modifications are great and the sound effects are outstanding. A big, big winner from Bethesda, IMHO. A LOT of hours are going to be spun away on this one. Since the NFL has become quite boring to me, my spouse will now be a Fallout 4 Widow...
I got a couple glitches like that nut like you say, nothing major at all. It’s deep and it’s Fallout. Ergo it’d awesome. If someone liked F3/NV, they will like F4 for all the same reasons IMO. There’s just more of it now to love or hate.
The OCD/ADD factor with settlements is either going to bankrupt paychologists or make them rich.
I miss Lydia already. Beth is evil for not releasing the creation kit/GECK yet. Todd Howard is the devil ;)
Yeh - I’m not taking on Fallout until I escape from the Maze Of Twisty Little Passages, All Alike.
[[I must confess a weakness for creepy Russian horror-survival games like that.]]
Yup- Love the Russian twist to it all- and the post apocalyptic feel to the game
Really wish they’d continue the series
I did have one gripe: During the intro when they describe dropping The Bomb, they show B-24 Liberators apparently on that mission. It was the B-29 Superfortress.
I refuse to play until everyone beta-tests it for me. LOL
Dude. New Vegas ROCKS!
Play it before the electric grid goes down!
