The estimated 27 victims of so-called "honor killings" each year in the U.S. don't fit neatly into the FBI's exhaustive Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics.
Hidden among thousands of nondescript murders and cases labeled as domestic violence are a mounting number of killings motivated by a radical and dark interpretation of Islam. Honor killings and violence, which typically see men victimize wives and daughters because of behavior that has somehow insulted their faith, are among the most secretive crimes in society, say experts.
“Cases of honor killings and/or violence in the U.S. are often unreported because of the shame it can cause to the victim and the victim’s family,†Farhana Qazi, a former U.S. government analyst and senior fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies on Terrorism, told FoxNews.com. “Also, because victims are often young women, they may feel that reporting the crime to authorities will draw too much attention to the family committing the crime.â€

At least not the Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics they release to the public.
And saying the "estimate" is 27 is a joke.
The actual number is probably one hundred times that, or more.
I was watching a Dateline program about one of these Islamic honor killings in Texas. Everyone in the family lied their asses off about every detail of the murder. It was incredible that the Texas Rangers were able to get a conviction against the father, but I think it was for a lesser charge like manslaughter. He'll be out in a few years.
The entire community came together to thwart investigation and prosecution.
It could be that the DOJ believes that it is the increased need for honor killings that is the problem.

And we are told that there is nothing to worry about the Sharia courts that are establishing in America.
By Islamic law, isn't honor killing permissible? Slavery and child marriage are, as is polygamy.
Given that there were 3151 reported female victims of murder in 2013, there are not 2700 or more honor killing victims.
In Saudi Arabia, you can bury someone out in the desert without a permit or grave marking or question, but I really really doubt that Muslims or other primitive honor culture tribes successfully make 2700 women disappear.
Like I said, not 2700 of them.
