Did his word hurt the officers feelings?
Second degree butt-hurt charges.
Actually, he taunted the dog, not the officer.
The player allegedly lifted his shirt, pounded on his chest and began barking at the dog as he was heading toward the field for the game, according to officials with the sheriff’s department.
no info at the link. I have no idea if they are referring to a dog handler or the dog it self. at this point I am among the player was taunting the dog.
Offending a dog means life in prison. But was the dog offended? Or did he just want to play?
I didn’t know dogs had such thin skins....
Everybody’s a dang victim....
Title 18
§ 5511.2. Police animals.
(a) Illegal to taunt police animals.—It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully or maliciously taunt, torment, tease, beat, kick or strike a police animal. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this subsection commits a felony of the third degree.
A K-9 officer is a dog.
Now...if there was only a law regarding shooting dogs.
Let the dog go and see how fast this guy really is.
He was trying to be culturally sensitive and speak to the dog in its native language. Now, if he had meowed at the dog....
That’s completely ridiculous terminology.
A K-9 officer is a sworn police officer, a human, who handles K-9s.
A K-9 is a trained dog used by the police or military.
An Unidentified Oakland Raider? since when has anyone in the NFL...gotten cover like this??
No. The K9 officer is the handler of the dog.
The dog is a canine.
No s***, Sherlock. No doubt about it!
.
Still...
Okay - I can MAYBE see giving the guy a warning to not be such an idiot. But actual charges? Heck, maybe with a warning and a nice discussion and showing him their dog-handling facilities the guy will give them a nice donation.
“Who’s the Big Dog? I’M the big dog. I’m the big dog!!!”
I can see something like this from some player (a twenty-something mind you) all amped up as he is heading out to “battle”.
it's who they are, it's what they do..
