An ominous âcloud tsunamiâ rolls in along the coast of Sydney, Australia, on Friday, signaling the coming of severe storms for the area.
The massive formation, actually called a shelf cloud, stunned Australians, with a flurry of photos hitting social media.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area with possible threats of large hail storms, heavy rains and forceful winds.

I saw one in Colorado, too, outside of Denver. All morning, I kept glancing out the window, hoping it wasn’t going to delay my flight out of Stapleton later in the day.
Took off just as it was hitting the airport, and we had to go to 42k feet to get out of the way.
If i was there my first thought would be, where is the 5 mile long space ship?
Some weird weather changes from Adelaide to Melbourne as well, revord rains and even a tornado.
See those fairly regularly here in North Texas usually with a “tomatoe” warning.
O you poor folks how do you deal with “Attack of The Killer Tomatos” when you get a warning?
ping to view at home.
That would scare me to death.
.
The “Tomatoes” is a family thing. If I wasn’t watching TCU getting whuped I’d tell it.
Now that I am retired I try to keep busy and make SURE that I do lots of exercise every other day AT LEAST.
I saw the new .007 Bond SPECTRE movie today. It was FABULOUS. I'm going to see it again this Monday or Tuesday.
Yes, VERY cool pic.
I hadn't even heard about it. I was busy this afternoon. I saw the new .007 Bond SPECTRE. Fabulous movie.
I've only known a half dozen Aussies or so, but they are a sturdy lot who can deal with ANYthing. Just an opinion
I didn't realize there were any of those types around here. Who are they?
Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw some years ago:
“God’s back
and boy, is he MAD!”
Just a super cell. Albeit a very well defined one.
A familiar sight to anyone in flyover country.
Last night in Texas we had some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard. Sounded like someone fired a cannon next door.
And were you “stunned” to see them every year?
I remember a similar article last year. I guess Australians are easily stunned.
Nope. My bieber didn't react.
