TARD.
But hey, at least he didn't but a P-51 Mustang...
A friend of mine bought a new and was driving it home from the dealership. He was also paying a little too much attention to the radio tuning buttons as he reset them to his preferences. That’s when he slammed into a parked car and totaled his new one.
About 40 years ago, I did a frame-off rebuild of a 55 Chevy pickup, then lovingly stuffed a 500+ hp 427 in it. Took me 6 months to get it not done, but road worthy.
That afternoon I had a blast, but finished the day totaling the truck.
Happens more often than you think.
Just because you can afford a Super-Car, doesn’t mean you know how to drive one.
The same applies to 4-wheel drive SUV’s. You’d be utterly amazed at how many you’ll see on their roofs along I-65 north of Lafayette, In, in any given winter storm.
My dad’s an electrician, I can fix it.
was the driver a Son Of a Billionaire?
I can do this one better. I had an accident test driving a car. I was fussing with something on the dashboard when BOOM, I hit the car in front of me at a stoplight.
It wasn’t a Ferrari though. It was a Ford Tempo. Back in the 1990s. Or maybe 1980s. It was the one time a car salesman wanted to get rid of me. They never called me back. Ended up buying a Nissan.
That’ll buff right out.
LaFerrari is now LaWreak.
Years ago when I picked up my first Porsche the salesman took me around the Porsche owned dealership to show me their facility. They had a state of the art painting booth which held a brand-new turbo that had heavy damage on its front end. He told me it was newly owned by a Cleveland Browns running back famous for “The Fumble”. Apparently he had taken his brand-new car over to show his ex-wife. He persuaded her to drive the car and she hit a telephone pole just down the street from her home
I got a new 3/4 ton Ford and on the way home almost jiggled off the dirt road on a curve. It took a few weeks for the springs and suspension to settle in and become controllable.
He over corrected after it pulled to the left toward another vehicle as he accelerated
Yeb? can fix it. No problema.
My understanding is that accidents shortly after purchase, or even during test drives are not totally uncommon with first time buyers of performance cars and motorcycles.
