I’m in the process of trying to get my 92 year old WWII vet Dad to be seen at the VA. Filled out all the paperwork, he was given an appointment for 12/9 which is obviously more than a 30 day wait. Called the number provided for the situation and still, 3 weeks later, have not been able to secure an appointment for him anywhere that is sooner than 12/9.

Whomever can figure out a system that relieves vets of this pathetic mountain of red tape, I say hats off to them.

As with most everything run by our idiot government, it’s all words. I’ve yet to speak to someone in the VA system who has a straight answer on how to get my father seen sooner, even though it’s stated he is ‘entitled’ to that service.

I detest hallow words, especially when dealing with the health and well being of my Dad. Just my 2 cents.

I have never encountered more cold and heartless souls than the VA bureaucrats .

I recall one incident when the VA wanted us to send 92 year old WWII vet who was in D day on a 100 mile trek to a Denver VA for a series of tests and treatment on a tough wintry day.
We just treated him and ate the bills since the VA rejected them for no prior Approval.
