Trump has actually HELPED vets which is more
than the GOP, the VA, or the Islamic White Mosque.

There are eligibility requirements....that simply shouldn’t be. So we are not talking the same thing.

I know we also already give incentives for companies to hire veterans.

Firing VA officials is harder said than done.

The existing plan at your link has eligibility hurdles for vets to go through before they can use non-VA facilites. (if they've waited for an appointment for over 30 days, or have to drive over 40 miles). I think this is one of the issues Trump is eliminating with his VA plan.

Does the vet have to drive more than 50 miles to get help in Trump’s plan, or just go to the nearest facility?

... He is a little late to that party, it’s already policy...

Apparently you are unaware of in reality how difficult it is to be seen outside of VA facilities. But, nice try anyway.

How come Trump is the only one with plans?

He has a plan for immigration.

He has a tax plan.

He has a VA plan.

He actually puts it in writing. The others seem to be waiting to see which way the political trial balloons blow before taking a position.

“Firing VA officials is harder said than done.”

Are you channeling Mitch McConnell?

Let’s just give up because it is supposedly “hard”.

If a populist attains the nomination, can it also not be possible to attain a populist stack of new Representatives and Senators since all of the filing deadlines for the state/federal office are long after the Presidential primaries?

Remember, all 435 members of congress in addition to 34 Senators will also be on the ballots next November.

Obviously a Trump hit piece.

I would just abolish the VA hospitals and clinics and put them all on Medicare...transferring the millions of dolls for the VA over to the Medicare fund.

That’s where obamas “30 million uninsured” should have been put and leave our insurance alone! It would have been cheaper. What he spent on the website alone would have paid the premiums for the “poor uninsured”.

We have only one available nearby and he’s into physical therapy.

If “populism” means becoming a liberal like Trump, I’ll pass.

That was my take as well. The satellite clinic angle has been going on for many years, but they need more. And more partners in rural areas. Vets using non VA facilities or active military base medical centers, also not new.

Where I believe Trump will make a yuge dif is in eliminating cost overruns and subpar management.

I have been a patient of the VA medical system for over 20 years, and I am well aware of the difficulty in using the system, Your Smugness. Do you suggest that Trump allow anyone to go any doctor anywhere, anytime and claim to be a veteran and just have them send the bill to the VA? Do you think there will be no controls as to who is eligible? They are still going to have to go through the system to verify eligibility, and that is where the real problems are. It’s that initial determination that takes so long.

Go lecture someone else about awareness.

For those living within 50 miles of a VA center the bar to clear to get outside care is extremely high, and the first response is almost always ‘denied’.

Evidence that the choice act isn’t working should be clear to anyone... wait times are increasing.

Trumps plan says clearly that those with a VA card can see any doctor accepting Medicare.

So, yes, the issues with initial determinations will still need to be addressed. That is a systemic problem based partly in the structure within the VA that offers bonuses for cost controls and perceived profits. The culture of ‘no’ needs to be fixed as well.

Actually they don’t have to wait 30 days, only if they are facing a 30 day wait.

‘How come Trump is the only one with plans?’

Do you remember when the CONSTANT harp/nag/gripe/whine re Trump was the lack of specifics/details? He had already, at that time, put out more detailed plans than the rest, but the harangue continued.

Now none of these same bellyachers are grousing that THEIR candidate is short on specifics. Not a one. It was just another thinly veiled attack on Trump which, having failed, has been abandoned for the latest attack du jour.
