Even during his so-called vaunted 2004 DNC keynote speech I wasn’t fooled.
The dithering idiots I know (mostly older women from church) will NEVER admit it was a mistake. They haven’t really felt the pain. In fact one has a Bernie sticker on her car last Sunday
They’ve got way too much invested to have any second thoughts
Sad thing is they’ll vote again
Neighbor across the street is a conservative Dem. We love politics and have great discussions....even tho we don’t agree on all. But, he HATES the Clintons and Obama. Unfortunately, haven’t talked to him in a while. Last he told me he disliked Cruz. Don’t know what he makes of Trump.
None from me. I never liked or trusted him from the start. I’m not swayed by pretty-boy pols whose main skill set is reading a TelePrompTer.
My dad, who’s a 1930s style New Deal Democrat voted for Obama in 2008 because he believed that Obama would save Social Security (the sole issue my dad cares about). Now, my dad can’t stand the man, and denies ever voting for him.
Not sure if its relevant - but know a leftie who is getting screwed by Obamacare. Thought he was getting a subsidy (hurray, more free sh** from the government!) but some apparatchick in his State’s exchange put his enrollment into an plan that costs $700/month with $6000 deductible.
He blames insurance companies and the fool working at the State exchange.
All I said was - welcome to Obamacare and government control of your healthcare. Suck it up!
My lib friends blame the GOP, always will.
I don’t have friends like that. Those types will get you killed.
Virtually all the initial Obama supporters I know are just as enthralled with him as ever before. This is an emotional bond, way beyond anything I’d ever seen.
Rush had one on today. Another one who fell for it. Jerk!
My sister-in-law was totally duped by the Barry ‘charm’. Now she’s disappointed not because she voted for him but that he came short of her expectations. But she still has a soft spot for him— more like a stupid blind spot.
The bipedal mammals who voted for him believe that things happen in a vacuum, that no action has bearing on any other. There is no linearity in their parallel universe, just chaos. So, they don’t see, nor can they ever be expected to, their hand in the mess that they create. But here’s a story from a women’s board that I frequent that I saved to share with the only other conservative on that board. She began by saying that she rarely uses the board to board to lament, but she had to unburden herself of this:
1. got laid off right before the holidays
2. got left for two days, by myself in new_orleans by an ex boyfriend who actually paid for me to be there
3. was depending on my tax return and i’m now being told i need to pay $930 of that tax return on penalties for not having insurance because my old job, which employed over 600 people, found a loophole to not *have* to get coverage for their employees
4. i’m running out of funds and unemployment will probably not kick in for another month due to them launching an “investigation” to make sure i’m eligible for it for or not so i have no idea how i’m going to pay rent
5. before any of this happened, i got an oil change that was done badly, which in turn has ruined my car and given me even more expenses i cannot afford but have to pay up if i plan on driving myself to a job any time soon.
This was last year. Happy Schadenfreude!
I live in Brooklyn, pretty much the heart of Obamaland (remember, this is a place that went 80% for Bill DeBlasio in 2013). So, no, I haven’t heard any Obama voters say they regret it. But, what I have noticed is that, as the Obama presidency has gone on, people who used to be very, very vocal Obamabots have gotten very, very quiet whenever politics comes up in conversation.
I don't have any stories to share because anyone I found out that voted for Obama, I stopped communicating with them.
I’m sorry, but anyone who voted for Obama in the first place was pretty stupid. Have no sympathy but feeling plenty of resentment for a wasted 8 years of my life.
I continue to be intrigued about how Romney’s “47%” comment became so outrageous when it is a fact that media consultants and political commentators on both sides recognize and talk about all the time.
There are people on this forum who do not regret staying at home or going third party in 2012.
Those that we know voted for Obama/Biden always change the subject rather than allow themselves to be put on the spot.
If it wasn’t such a serious matter it would be laughable the extent they go to avoiding the topic.
I warned my sister and brother-in-law not to vote for zero before the ‘08 election, course they did. Last time I spoke to my sister was a couple of years ago and asked how do you like him now? Didn’t get an answer. Sister still talks to my mother and mom tells me she has seen the error of her ways when common core was forced on her school.
Not from my siblings. They become more agitated when I suggest King Barack has feet of clay. I thought one of my lib bros was going to have a stroke he got so upset with me when I told him what I thought about Dear Leader.
