Yes they do.

For one thing, Scripture specifically says no one will know the day or the hour, so these people don’t know their Bible.

And this is a time when Christians are not only being marginalized, but persecuted as well. We don’t need to give the enemy another easy target for ridicule.

Having said that, it is still best to get right with God through trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. While the world itself may not end, any day could be your last.

Don’t worry. I have it on good authority that humanity is safe until the Lions meet the Browns in Superbowl CCLXXIII.

This shows why not every “Christian” group really is Christian.

We should be prepared for much, much more Christian bashing and persecution in the months and years ahead. Yes, there are date setters and they are always wrong (Jesus warned us). But the prophecies of Daniel, Joel, Revelation, Ezekiel and others will come to pass just as the other things prophesied for earlier times did.

Israel is back in the land, she is surrounded by her enemies and her land will be divided. She will be greatly deceived and enter into a covenant of death (the time of Jacob’s trouble) so much so that she will be dwelling in unwalled cities and towns. Damascus will be reduced to a heap of ruin never to be inhabited again (the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth). The little horn with the mouth speaking great things against those that dwell in heaven will pull up three of the other 10 horns and eliminate them. The Jewish temple will be rebuilt and animal sacrifices will begin again and the antichrist will eventually be revealed. But all in God’s time, not man’s.

Going forward, things are going to get really dark and really bloody. It’s not wrong to use prophetic things to warm the lost of the 2nd coming of Christ. But with the warnings we should refrain from setting dates and going (only) for the sensational. That won’t convince very many people. Let’s live so that others see Jesus in us and are drawn to Him. After all, it’s all about Him!

Idiots like this give Christians a bad name.

That’s the point. The government propagandists are happy to promote this group because they can conflate rational concerns that people do have over the state of the world and economy with a Cassandra.

Now, all Christians are crazy.

We know to things to be true:

1) the world will not end on October 7. (No one knows the day or the hour.)

2) the common response throughout much of Christian history has been something along the lines of, “if I knew the world were ending tomorrow, I would plant a tree,” meaning we are supposed to act as if our work will never end, all the while knowing that it will end when we don’t expect it to.

Responding to 1), if no one knows the day or the hour, than it could INDEED "end" on October 7. To say that it won't "end" tomorrow is as presumptuous as saying it will.

I don't think God is going to redo his plans over just a few nut case prognosticators.

That said, the horribly misunderstood "end of the world" needs to be corrected, badly. The "end" isn't just a distinct point in time, but a whole series of events over a vast period of time, and non-time, the which our present period is a part. There will be a LOT of "ends" in eschatology, the end of the Church Age (rapture of the Church), the end of the Great Tribulation (at Christ's second coming), the end of His thousand year earthly reign, the next end of Satan's captivity, the final end of Satan and absolute banishment, the end of planet earth, etc.

Applewhite’s followers always carried a five dollar bill to pay a fine if they were charged with vagrancy and quarters for use in public phones. (Their communicators hadn’t been delivered yet.)

Trust me... we got a lot more than that from the Jews.

“You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.” Jesus to Samaritan woman at the well.
