Ms. Blunt did not want to pay her "fair" share.

However, she has since opened up about the reasons she went for duel nationality - and it was all about the money. For want of a proofreader, the "dual" was lost!
WTH happened to writers who were cognizant of good English?

Socialism works until you run out of other people's money.
And Emily Blunt doesn't want to be one of those "other people". She wants to be a Liberal who keeps her money. But you can pay for her ideals.

Do you remember the first thing most British rockers do when they start making some coin? Move to America!

Looks like the Brits are catching up with the Americans in getting rid of their copy editors.

Dual nationality? I thought that one must renounce allegiance to any foreign government as a condition of becoming an American citizen.

Many use their phones not a key board. Auto correct is challenging and not easy to type. Give folks a break. This isn’t a high school English class, and you aren’t the teacher.

She was on a TV show and was so upset because she had to renounce the Queen. Which is why she’s a Tory!

Lucky for her that the USA isn't completely Socialist yet! What's she going to do when the people FOR WHOM SHE VOTES raise our taxes to get us in line with Europe? (remember Will Smith ‘wellll, God Bless America’ , when he learned that his tax rate in France would be 75%? ) Where can she go next to be able to keep more of her ‘hard earned money’? Ms Blunt, you are part of the problem that is destroying our once great country!

Maybe Blunt’s American citizenship wanted to pick a fight with her British subjectship?

In Britain, the Tories are the Conservatives. I am pretty sure she would be registered Labour, unless there is some small group to the Left of the Labour Party.

Since she portrayed a young Queen Victoria in her biggest role to date her affinity to royalty is understandable. As a side note, she does have those Hannoverian Dynasty eyes.

No, the requirement to renounce citizenship is dependent on the laws of the country. My wife does not wish to become a US citizen because it would mean she would be required by her birth country ro surrender her citizenship. Most people get caught holding two passports if they enter or leave the home country and at that time surrender their original passport-—but it is dependent on the laws of each nation. Some have no problem if you hold multiple passports.

“Dual nationality? I thought that one must renounce allegiance to any foreign government as a condition of becoming an American citizen.”
The United States permits dual citizenship. Many immigrants retain their home country citizenship when they naturalize. Anchor babies, who automatically become US citizens, may also retain the citizenship of their parents.
Perhaps this is another aspect of immigration any reform efforts should address.
