China to join Russian air strikes in Syria, Russia gains Iraq air base – report

Posted on 10/04/2015 3:09:05 PM PDT by Lucy Hamilton

BELGRADE – DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report that China sent word to Moscow on Friday, October 2, that J-15 fighter bombers would shortly join the Russian air campaign that was launched Wednesday, September 30. Baghdad has moreover offered Moscow an air base for targeting the Islamic State now occupying large swathes of Iraqi territory, debka.com reports.

The J-15 warplanes will take off from the Chinese Liaoning-CV-16 aircraft carrier, which reached Syrian shores on September 26, according to DEBKAfile. This will be a landmark event for Beijing: its first military operation in the Middle East as well the carrier’s first taste of action in conditions of real combat.

Debka is not the most reliable source. I will wait on this one.

This was reported a couple of days ago on Zero Hedge. Again, not the most reliable source. But on the other hand, anything that would make Obama look bad would be hidden by our own press.

I guess we'll have to wait for the British press reports.

"China to join Russian air strikes in Syria"

Lot's of good hands-on military experience for both of them.

It will be enjoyable watching ISIS fighters getting bombs dropped on them. No doubt about that but a Russo/Sino/ Iraqi alliance probably isn’t in America’s best interest. It’s going to be an interesting decade I think.

What a spectacular, Obama foreign policy catastrophe now looms as a distinct possibility. A coalition of Syria/Russia/Iran/and even China defeats the Syrian rebels, and defeats Islamic State in Syria and then is invited in to help defeat Islamic State in Iraq.

Then we have Russian and Iranian forces in Syria and Iraq, looking all victorious and heroic and they are invited to stay. Oil deals are worked out and grand new partnerships formed while the USA looks on, having played little role in the grand victory.

I could happen.

Baghdad has also made concessions to the Chinese. They are likely to join Russia (and the CIS) in Iraq as well.

Our replacing foreign country leaders has not worked since Diem in Viet Nam, through installing the Shah of Iran, to killing Saddam, assisting in Libya’s Khadaffi’s demise, and installing “leadership” in Afghanistan. Maybe murderer Assad can keep Syria relatively stable.
An exception may be in Grenada.

Trump is right. Let them kill each other.

Is this what we mean by a coalition?

>>Sec. Kerry: US-led coalition ‘on the road’ to defeating Islamic State (+video)

Increased airstrikes in Syria and the retaking of territory by Kurdish fighters in Iraq appears to indicate some progress in the US-led coalition fight against Islamic State militants.

That Nobel Peace Prize that Obama was given, I mean, everything he touches turns to crap.

He must be the only recipient of that award to have created something like what’s happening.

"What a spectacular, Obama foreign policy catastrophe now looms as a distinct possibility."

Don't worry over this minor, trivial issue.
It has nothing to do with what sort of makeup or underwear Caitlyn Jenner is wearing next week. We must keep life in proper perspective!

No thanks to the Obama administration which continued to supply arms through the corrupt Baghdad government rather than directly to the Kurd fighters.
