Trump's Wall & Sophisticated underground Mexican tunnels ( vanity )
9/30/15 | sushiman

Posted on 09/30/2015 1:45:56 PM PDT by sushiman

A friend of mine - via Facebook - is arguing that Trump's wall is a pipedream that won't work because of myriad underground tunnels that are dug so deep they are undetectable by GPR . I Googled but couldn't find any current info to use to refute his claim . Anybody here hip to how Trump's wall COULD work ?

The Mexicans won’t smuggle masses of people though very expensive tunnels because people will talk and word will get back to The Law.

Drug smuggling though tunnels..... This makes more sense for Mexican cartels and criminals.

Mexico will pay for the wall, estimated to cost $5 Billion.

My crystal ball says that mexico wants the “immigrants” out of Mexico.as they are by and large undesirables of various stripes..so why on earth would they even want a wall, much less pay for one.?

We need to make it more expensive to come and less profitable to stay. The wall adds to the difficulty of coming, which adds to cost. Tunnels have serious capacity limits, so that would provide a bottleneck to reduce the numbers, and that’s a whole lot better than two thousand miles of porous border.

The second step, making illegal presence less profitable for themselves and their employers, is also essential. We need to fine the illegals and their employers enough to make working here illegally and hiring illegals unprofitable. We also need to charge the illegals and their employers for the costs of enforcement and deportation.

Trump has explained why Mexico will pay for the wall umpteenth times already. No need for me to repeat it.

Never been this excited about any candidate since 1964.
I have always wanted an “America First” candidate not in the pockets of his/her rich donors since 1964.

The career politicians are like horses with blinders on, placed by their rich donors. They are just as controlled.

Sadly his rich donors want him to expand H1-B visa’s 5 fold. That will hurt the middle class in a big way. I wish Cruz was independently rich and could be his own man, because he is a good man. He also pushed TPA in Senate
and voted yea on Corker Bill, again pushed there by his rich donors.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...please do not change your loyalty to Cruz! He is a very good man. Your arrival in Trump camp might jinx Trump’s chances!

You most definitely can find tunnels deep under ground.

I was recently considering buying land in Tombstone, but that area is a maze of old mine shafts. Many are undocumented.

I was told that I’d have to hire somebody to search for mine shafts before buying or building or my house could end up in a sinkhole within 20 years.

I quit there, so I’m not sure exactly who I’d hire or how they’d look, but that was the next step with the realtor.

Is that your theory? The mongols were dreamers? Probably the Chinese could have saved a lot of money by not giving them welfare checks and drivers licenses.

If illegals couldn’t register their kids for school, go to the hospital, work at a job, drive a car, visit Mr. Obama, serve on city council, work as a DNC strategist, get a licence to practice law or report a crime committed against them without being certain they would be put in prison, how big a wall would it take to keep them out?

It is true that some dig down 90 feet or more and come across avoiding all detection.
But not every coyote or drug person does that, just the super wealthy drug cartels.

The answer to that one is to inspect buildings and use satellites to photograph the Mexican side to see where large numbers of people are going in but not coming out.

There has to be indicators of tunnels based on activity.

I agree the govt needs to remove all incentives.

But I still want a wall.

It probably won’t get built until they’ve fubared everything to the point where people are trying to escape.

Then they’ll build it to keep the taxpaying slaves from escaping.

You are so mis-informed, it is sad.
Learn Chinese history before making un-informed posts.
The Great Wall is why Chinese culture survived.

Drug smugglers get NO incentives in the form of handouts.
And they do not work on regular jobs, so e-verify is useless.

Only one method to put a big crimp in their operation...Wall.
It can not be a fence, it has to be a double wall which will make it difficult to use ladders for the 2nd wall.

The great wall kept the Chinese from having to fight border wars with the Mongols during the Ming dynasty. It allowed them to keep their farming areas producing. The mongols were a horse mobile military force, not migrants. Raiders, not migrants. What the wall did not do was stop the Manchu. Their invasion started about 1600 and they were able to take the Liaodong region despite the wall. In 1644 they were allowed through the gates in order to help expel Li Zicheng’s rebels from Beijing. They defeated these rebels and the Ming dynasty and became the rulers of China until 1912. The great wall is a good illustration when someone say the Democrats in search of voters or the Republicans in search of cheap labor, is willing to let an outside group enter your country for their political purposes, as Gen. Wu Sangui did in 1644, you are leaving yourself open to this new groups political purposes and a physical barrier is irrelevant. Constantinople, East Germany, Ming Dynasty, if the civilization hiding behind a wall is willing to protect itself it will survive, if it is not, it won’t.

In our present situation, if we make the logical pass to US citizenship and a free ride illegal immigration, then we will have illegal immigration regardless of a wall. If we make illegal immigration a pointless activity, we won’t have illegal immigration, regardless of a wall.
