Horrifying moment cops drew guns on husband and PREGNANT wife

Dashcam footage captured the horrifying moment two police officers drew their guns on a husband and wife after pulling them over while they were rushing to the hospital to give birth.

James Reiner was driving his wife Dana to the hospital after her water broke in January 2012 in Hebron, Indiana when they passed a police car that suddenly turned on its lights and pulled them over, despite the fact that they were not speeding.

That is when James got out to tell Sgt. Anthony Dandurand that his wife was pregnant and they needed to get to the hospital. He responded by cuffing the man on the ground while another officer, Travis Thomas, held a gun on James.

Dana then tried to show the men that her waters had indeed broken - and they pointed a gun directly at her belly and yelled at her to 'get back in the fu**ing car.'

(snip)

Dana was eventually picked up at the scene by an ambulance and taken to the hospital where she gave birth just minutes later according to an interview she did with The Times of Northwest Indiana.

A U.S. District magistrate agreed with Dana in July 2014, when he ruled that the officers had absolutely no right to detain the couple after learning Dana was in pregnant, let alone take James to jail.

(snip)

And the men not only violated the constitutional rights of the Reiners as a judge later declared, but they also can be heard on the dashcam video six minutes into the arrest saying they will delete the video.

It was not from lack of intelligence that they detained her. It was to satisfy their sadistic desires and lord their authority over her.

Most people hopefully noted the sarcasm.
It was evident to me and I smiled over it! :-)

I’d have to say that it is a bit of both. Sadism and stupidity is a bad combination.

The only thing that changed is the presence of cameras.

As an entirely law-abiding, tax-paying, decent, fair, and pro-police person who just endured a bad experience with a confrontational, irrational, and steroid-juiced LEO thug...I am now starting to see things from an entirely new perspective.

I recently telephoned police to help with a simple traffic accident I witnessed as a BYSTANDER and for them to send help. The officers KNEW in advance the person (me) who called-in the request for assistance was wearing khaki shorts, hiking boots, red socks, and a bright red wool sweater...since I heard their dispatch radioing that very same thing to the officers while I was still on the phone.

I was standing outside my vehicle as they approached. I began to walk towards the cruisers as they rolled-up and received the crazed "GET THE FU*K BACK INTO YOUR VEHICLE, NOW!" command as they exited. This was at a simple fender-bender where I had just stopped as a motorist because I was an impartial witness. The two other drivers were totally cool and were exchanging information. Nobody was fighting or even raising their voices.

Had I accidentally stumbled, reached for my phone, suffered a muscle spasm, or anything else unexpected...that 'roid-raging maniac with the vein bulging out of his forehead would have drawn his service weapon and shot me. It was a surreal and life-changing experience. I will never, ever willingly help another police officer again in my life.

Yes, it is. But there is a good number of those on this forum that will not only defend the actions of the police, but will praise it.

I, too learned my lesson. I now avoid the police like the plague. I now fear the police more than the criminal.

Concur with you 100%.
At least the criminal thinks there might be ramifications for their actions.
Not so with the police, anymore.
