The size of the Earth. The size of the Moon. The size of the Sun. The placement of the Earth relative to the Sun and the placement of the Moon relative to the Earth makes possible perfect eclipses when the Earth, Moon and Sun are opposite each other.
Having the Moon with it's size and distance from the Earth made possible tidal actions that made possible interactions between land and ocean that enhanced the probability of life forming and being sustained.
