I just hate having paid social marketers on FreeRepublic.
I wouldn’t like it either. What I particularly dislike is FUD. FUD is what makes trojan malware effective - at least in my experience. Having suckered for it once, I am resistant (once burned, twice shy) to it.

Swordmaker reinforces me in that stance. But he also gave guidance in upgrading my security by switching from operating as an administrative user to a normal user who also has the ability to be admin for my system but knows not to use it unnecessarily or incautiously. Apple didn’t tell me that, because Apple didn’t want me to trouble my little head over it. Very understandable marketing approach for any vendor, but not the most prudent approach for me to take as a user.

Sword has posted quite a few articles that didn’t show apple in a good light. Security alerts/discoveries and the like.

If it’s a concern, either good or bad, to the community, he posts it.

Incorrect. I only come on to a small fraction of Swordmaker’s Apple threads posted to shine a light on the fairly obvious paid social marketing activities taking place on FR.

And, jealous...? Jealous of what, exactly? Swordmaker’s ability to lie with aplomb about NOT being a paid social marketer? Or his ability to dupe so many well intentioned Freepers with his social marketing tactics?

Naw...

I just hate having paid social marketers on FreeRepublic. I’m hoping one day your boss at Apple assigns you new territory when he realizes that you’ve turned FR into hostile territory with your obvious social marketing tactics.

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO BE TOLD THAT I AM NOT PAID BY ANYONE TO POST OR MAINTAIN THE APPLE PING LIST ON FR?

Are you that much of an idiot. . . I guess you are.

I post to please the FreeRepublic members who have asked me over a ten year period to keep the up-to-date on things affecting their equipment and interests. I do not listen to you Apple Hate Brigade asshats.

You are outnumbered by over 700 to one!

Give it a REST, bolobaby.

See - that’s where you’re wrong. As a paid social marketer, Swordmaker posts two kinds of articles:

LIAR! You are a Apple Hate Brigade member in good standing. Follow your train in every Apple thread in which you've posted. Your obvious purpose is to poison them and make them unpleasant threads. As I pointed out you try and change the subject into ad hominem attacks on me. You are continuing that with this pointless post. You don't use Apple products, you claim no interest, so WHY are you here except to throw feces around???

You really must be an Apple employee, designated to be Apple's internet troll, looking for all negative posts and comments, and ready with your list of issues and fixes, while making sure that, Apple is recognized for being bug free and the 'bestest' ever.

No, adorno, I am just very well informed. Obviously better than you. I just posted a complete list back to 2009 of every update release for iOS showing the pattern you claim are excessive bug fixes, when it is no where near the pattern that Microsoft has had, or the ignoring of bugs that Android has had to live with because of fragmentation.

Oh, wow, you can Google a query about iOS bugs. . . I could do the same about Windows bugs. That means NOTHING. You got 36 million hits. . . but if you go to the end of the listings, which is only 28 pages at ten to the page, Google says they've eliminated the duplicate hits but that you can repeat the search with duplicates included. . . then you you'll get thousands of pages. the Windows search with the same exact criteria returned 83 million hits. See?

I am a cross platform consultant and have an extremely extensive library of such data. It makes it easy to come up with the FACTS, instead of innuendo and myths.

YOU also have been told numerous times that I am not being paid to respond to this constant barrage of CRAP you and others throw against the wall in Apple threads. I do it because it needs to be answered for the benefit of the 700 plus members of the Apple Ping List on FR plus others who are just lurking readers, and also because I am just blasted tired of it.

I found that I had to download about half of my apps on my iPhone, but not the iPad. Weird.

Not a huge deal.

I like the updating process on the Apples. No worries here.

How much memory do you have in each? I noticed that the size of the update for my iPad was smaller than the update for my iPhone 6 by about 3.5GB. The reason probably has to do with the fact that the iPhone is a cellular phone while the iPad is not a phone (my iPad has a cellular connection but not the phone abilities), as well as the Apple Watch upgrade stuff.

The new system automatically will delete apps to make whatever space is necessary to do the update. . . and mark them for updating when done. It gives one a chance to only re-download the ones you actually use. Back when I had a 16GB iPhone, it had to be done by hand. . . which was a pain in the backside. This is better.

Sigh, again: because I don’t like paid social marketers on FreeRepublic.

And, again, wrong - I’ve used Apple products, we still have some in my house, but I personally use an Android phone presently because it’s better.

YOU are the liar here, making accusations you cannot prove and continually doing it. Give it a rest. You have no business in these threads except disruption. . . you are no better than a common community organizer of the worst kind, ala Barack Obama. You use Alinsky tactics and you do lie. You are the one repeatedly posting here with FUD and ad hominem attacks on me! You are hijacking this thread into an attack on me. Give it a rest.

It would be interesting to see the algoythm for how they decide what to delete. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had something to do with when the app was last accessed.

Your posting history proves my contention. I’m not the only one who has come to this rather obvious conclusion. No further proof needed.

You shall know a paid marketer by their fruits.

Android isn't terrible, but it's not even in the same class as Apple.

Apple = Excellence

No, adorno, I am just very well informed. Obviously better than you.

Nobody would ever take the time to do the work you do on behalf of Apple, unless you were getting paid. Now, getting paid can include having Apple stock. Otherwise, you need to get a life, and being part of the Apple cult is not the same as having a life.

You are nothing more than a troll, and you're on constant guard against anybody uttering or writing a negative word about Apple or any of its products. Being in love with a company or its products is kind of yucky. Eek! Take a bath and get a life.

The trolls here are those, like you and a few others, who have no interest in these threads who invade them, unlike the 700 plus others, who ARE interested. If you are NOT interested SKIP the Apple threads and go on to something that DOES interest you instead of spewing your myths and feces all over these threads. I have told you the truth but YOU WON'T ACCEPT IT. That is your problem. I have a very nice life, a business, and am quite well off with no need of getting paid by anyone. Yes, I have some Apple stock, among other investments, but it is not something that drives my interest. You anti-Apple people are the ones who use slurs like "cult" although there are now over 1.2 BILLION iOS devices in the wild. . . certainly not owned by a small cadre of "cult members". . . and over 100,000,000 Apple Macs currently being used and over seven million being sold new every quarter at an every increasing growth rate while Windows PCs are declining. Again, they are NOT being purchased and used by a small cadre of cultists.

My main Mac now runs EIGHT operating systems, adorno, so I can provide services for my clients. I am now running UNIX™, OS X.10, Windows 10, 8.1, 7, XP, and two versions of Linux. I have run SEVEN of those simultaneously just to see if it would do it. . . and it handled them easily. One of these days I am going to try all eight. I am intimately familiar with all of them. I am not a dumb "cultist" but a person who knows which platform is better than all the rest. I posted an article not too long ago when another user ran 26 different operating systems simultaneously on a Mac. . . and it handled them easily. Someone pointed out that a Windows machine could do several hundred VM OS, but they were ALL identical instances of the same OS, basically sharing the same re-entrant libraries. Quite different from running different OSes simultaneously.

I support multiple businesses running various Operating systems. . .

You accuse me of posting on "behalf of Apple" but that mischaracterizing what I do. I am posting on behalf of the 700 plus members of the Apple Ping list on FreeRepublic as well as the lurking readers. . . many of whom thank me for doing the heavy lifting for them. . . especially for debunking the crap stuff that is repeatedly posted by you guys. It often is crap. I also cull the junk the news media publishes as well . . . as there is a lot of FUD there as well. One blogger posts a rumor and it spreads without foundation in the mainstream, but may have already been refuted with facts. I will post the facts, not the rumor. You guys attack me for not accepting the rumors. Almost invariably, I turn out to be correct in the long run because I did out the root evidence and those DAMN pesky facts that refute those oh, so juicy rumors that the haters just WANT to believe.

Have you restarted your iPhone? Try that. . . use the forced restarted procedure. Hold down the home button and power button simultaneously for fifteen seconds and the hold the power button until the Apple icon appears.

Also make sure in Settings that Siri on lock screen is turned on.
