Why the hell not, right? I’ve lived a good long life and when it is my time I will sing my Song of Death. And take a few of the turds with me.

If there is any Justice in my death.

Dry pills will last just about forever. They won’t go bad when they expire, the worst that might happen is they will lose some effectiveness. I have some serious pain pills that I got when my daughter was born, (she is now thirteen). I had some back pain where nothing otc worked, so I took one and got relief. Always fill any pain prescriptions that you get after surgery or whatever, and save them in a safe place, but TELL NO ONE.

Buy clorox bleach.

No. Buy powdered pool chlorine. Teaspoon or so per gallon and it doesn't off gas and corrode stuff (and become ineffective)while you store it.

I am very rural and not bugging out anywhere, I’ve been preparing for years. I’ll be happy if my scorecard reads in my favor when they finally get me. It is a good time to be old.

I always chuckle at #9. There are always survivalist wannabes at the local gun shop. Once they were talking about their bug out bags. I asked them how many times they walked ten miles with those beauties.

They looked at me as if I had rocks in my head.

I am not rucking an 80 pound pack any more. But I can walk ten miles off road without dying.

But you can’t do stuff for 3 weeks without food. If you have to move then it’s a lot less.

11. You die because you are so screwed.

Can't believe they left that out...

I have lots of water and filters as well as humid air drip source in Florida.

Realist, not fantasy plans.

Warm enough, cool enough to survive.

Long term food supply.

Accidents are just that...plan to survive and be prepared.

Safe room and lots of ammo to defend myself.

Sickness and infection may get beyond my control...but haven’t been to a DR in years.

I am not out of shape...and carry enough weight to last a short time.

No medication of any kind needed.

I have decided I will die of boredom when the books run out...with nothing to do, no place to go and no one to talk to! COULD BE WORSE I GUESS!

I’ve been doing some weight work (sitting leg presses and upper body work) as well as treadmill work (low mph, but as much time as 85 minutes). I always thought that I could walk or outrun most anything, but as time has passed, I have had to confront the fact that I am not in the kind of shape that I was in some years ago.

SSKI is the answer to water sanitation issues.

A tiny bottle will last a year for most people.

A Sawyer water filter or a Lifestraw is good insurance and can easily be carried to bug out

A tin cup. That's all you need... and a means to make a hat-full of fire....

Everybody forgets the tin cup. A good knife, a good tommy, and a tin cup. You'll be fine.

I shop for survival food by calorie count
And by what we’ll eat if no SHTF

Du you know a single pack of pop tarts has 420 calories? Not bad for lightweight energy food and a lot cheap than MRE’s !

See post #31.

Food grade buckets free at the bakery or restraunt. $5 spigot. Doulton or Aquacera ceramic candles are $20 - $40 a piece, depending on the grade and quantity.

1 candle gives me 5+ gals a day.

Low maintenance, more dependable than biosand and you can put one together for less than $30.
