One of the biggest stars of television's first few decades, Martin Milner, has died.
The actor - who starred in Route 66 in the 1960s and Adam-12 in the 1970s - died peacefully at home on Saturday.
Although boasting hundreds of on-screen credits over a six-decade acting career, Martin was best-known for playing honorable patrol officer Pete Malloy on Adam-12.

More than the show itself, I remember battling my sister at 3 PM daily for control of the TV. I wanted Adam 12 (followed by Emergency!), while she wanted to watch re-runs of “I Love Lucy.”

For years I hated my Mom, because she wanted to watch Merv Griffin when the Three Stooges came on. But after years of therapy we finally reconciled.

This is an erroneous report.
Martin Milner has been dead for many years.
I saw Jack Cassidy shoot him myself.
It was on Columbo just last Sunday night.

Wrong tune!My father wrote the “Theme”!Burt Leaonard was going to use the Bobby Troupe song, but changed his mind!!

Interesting tie-in: Bobby Troup from Emergency was an amazing jazz musician and wrote “Route 66”. His wife, Julie London, was a fine jazz/torch singer and also starred in Emergency.
That’s the only trivia I could scrape off the back of my brain today...

I believe her death was reported the same day as Milner’s. Not many left from our childhood TV viewing days.

OK, perhaps someone can finally answer this for me: on Adam-12, the radio dispatcher often used a phrase that sounded like "see the man." Is this actually what she said? What did it mean?
Oh, and RIP Officer Malloy.
