The Counter is also close by. More pricey, but excellent quality with great toppings. The meat is so fresh they will serve it to you raw, though I usually go for medium rare.
The other advantage of these places: no long line of people waiting for a mediocre burger and horrendous fries.
The In-N-Out on Sepulvada is always my first stop after getting my rental. That's more-or-less tradition and isn't likely to change (like White Castle is my first stop after picking up a rental in Columbus, OH)
But one of my clients is in El Segundo, so I'll have to try The Habit for lunch sometime.
The Habit is good, but too pricey. Fries are so so. In-N-Out is still what a hamburger’s all about.
The Counter opened close to us in Mt. View a year ago. I still haven’t been there. Sounds like it’s worth a try. Clark’s on El Camino is the local institution that’s hard to give up.
