Nothing new. Anna Kournikova used to get paid big bucks despite being a mediocre tennis player.

It is true, that the preference for light-skinned, fine-featured, tall, wispy people (women AND men) exists in many colors and nationalities. It’s not fair, but that’s the way people may be wired. And Serena Williams IS a better tennis player, and she worked hard to get to that point. THAT gets my respect. And, there are a lot of cute, wispy blond girls, so what. Not many stay that way.

Martina Navratilova didn’t get much endorsements either. The reason?....unattractive. Same as Williams.
