Was there a need for female operators in Korea? Vietnam?
Did we see any aviators in the Navy refuse to wear their insignia as a result of the Cary Lohrenz or Kara Hultgren?
Do you have a problem with men getting extra time off to train for Ranger School?
Of course, it would be more germane if some of the Huckabee males chose to serve in some capacity.
I dare you to say that to one of the women who made it through the course. I have a feeling you would get your sammich but probably wouldn’t enjoy it very much.

Yes and yes. If you can not imagine a scenario where a female asset is useful you have a woeful lack of imagination.
I don’t think so in this case, the observation he made stands on its own.
Regardless, I don’t give Huckabee much attention, I simply liked something he said.
Ref: “Did we see any aviators in the Navy refuse to wear their insignia as a result of the Cary Lohrenz or Kara Hultgren?”
I am not familiar with the issues with Cary Lohrenz or Kara Hultgren by name. That said, I assume you mean they became carrier-qualified Navy pilots and were somehow granted their wings under dubious conditions....I see it as an equal comparison.
As an outsider looking in on the Navy pilots, it appears there is a simple objective test that Naval aviators pass on a very routine basis: They have to land on friggin aircraft carriers!
On the other hand, a Ranger tab is more like earning a black belt. Anyone can wear one, and you can spend an entire lifetime without ever having the opportunity to prove you earned it through actions in a real fight. It is only when that time comes and you have to square off against a bad guy in a real fight that it becomes clear whether you earned it in a real Dojo, or obtained it through lessons at McDojo’s. The political fight over the Ranger program was all about keeping it as a real Dojo where warriors learn real skills or letting it be turned into a McDojo where everyone can get a black belt to build their self-esteem. I believe Odierno kept it from being turned into a McDojo.
The totally unverified rumor I heard was that that particular class was given more food and allowed more sleep, and that the women were “tabbed out,” which means that once they got to a certain point in the course they were going to “passed.”
Like I said, all unconfirmed. But it wouldn’t surprise me.
What would surprise me is if they were both posted to the Ranger Regiment and sent into the field.
Feminizing the military was and still is a bad idea. Deal with it.
Provide me with an example where females were necessary on the front lines in Korea & Vietnam. I like to think of myself as reasonably well versed in the history of both wars, but I may have missed something.
Never claimed they were needed on the front lines. They aren’t. But not all operators are engaged in firefights. Some kill silently with a knife or poison. Can you imagine a situation in Vietnam or Korea where that could be useful? Of course you can.
I wasn’t aware there was one...why don’t you point one out for me. The combat veterans of those wars that I spoke to about it dismissed putting women into that kind of combat as absurd.
The truth will tell eventually. Those feminizing the services are pretty good at hiding their tracks, if only because they don’t collect data, pregnancies resulting in non-deployability for example. I think in this case, as in the case of our Navy gal Lohrenz, if there is a bad side to this we’ll know about it.
