A non-candidate-aligned PAC? Isn’t that the sort of thing Rove specializes in?

Sounds like in part their idiot plan is to try to get Trump to expend large amounts of his money to respond to their spew. Don’t think it will work.

Only it wouldn’t be much of a benefit because the next recipient of such treatment would be Cruz, or Carson and anyone else who is not in bed with the GOPee or not JEB!. Remember the last election cycle with the conservative flavor of the month? It was never the fault of those conservatives. This is the game plan the oligarchs have been running for some time. Trump defies their time tested strategy so they have to find a way knock him out before they are too far along in the election cycle.

They will destroy the republican party and actively work to elect a democrat before they let ‘we the people’ choose someone who can remove them from power. They do not want control in the hands of the people. If you read any Peggy Noonan, the wealthy oligarchs don’t trust us (to make decisions that only benefit them).

Here’s the thing, for anyone inclined towards tin foil hats and the like.

If the GOPe thought Trump was doing some good, this is EXACTLY what they’d do. Attack him as a way of making him more popular.

I say that because it’s pretty frikkin obvious that every shot taken at Trump to this point has only made him stronger. A massive negative ad buy is almost certainly going to be like dropping a nuke on Godzilla.

If anyone who’s ever seen a Godzilla movie will have that sort of instinctual “this isn’t going to end well” reaction, can the GOPe really be that stupid?

If Trump goes down, Cruz will go with him. Cruz has defended Trump from day one and that won’t change. He will defend him from these ads as well. I doubt their ad campaign will work at any rate. Trump has the resources to fight back. Something Gingrich didn’t have.

He’ll crush them. He’ll say they’d rather fight him than the enemies of the voters: the Democrats. They’ll cook their goose if they do.

It’s so fun not to be scared for my candidate, for a change! The DC threat by the Chamber of Commerce, K Street, Wall Street, MSM, and the RNC coordinating with the GOP candidates to take down Trump is just not the big stick it used to be.

I feel like Charlotte in NOW VOYGER, finally able to say, “I’m not afraid anymore.”

Cruz has defended Trump from day one

Yes, because he honestly believes it, but also as a matter of strategy. if you're a Trump supporter and he goes down, who would you look to next? The guy who has most strongly defended him.

Trump and Cruz will landslide and finally destroy the GOPe once they respond to the ads by pointing out the proof that DC is SCARED TO DEATH of losing their power over Americans.

In this election cycle, FR has become, by and large, an anti-GOP forum, rather than an anti-DEM one. It's going to very difficult to unify the GOP after the primary.

Free Republic has always been anti-GOPe. You forgot the "e" on GOP.

The GOPe makes up a very tiny number of voters.

There are 10s of millions of Conservatives. Trump will likely attract millions of democrat voters. Trump may also likely get more black voters than any recent GOP candidate.

Unifying the GOP is irrelevant when the Silent Majority roars its voice.

This only proves Trump’s point and the Tea Party’s view that the leadership of the Republican party is too far left and hates its true base.

I think there are too many on both sides who want a Clinton / Bush rematch.

The GOP leaders are shockingly stupid. The way to take down Trump, if it can be done, is for other candidates to treat him like a legitimate candidate and beat him in the marketplace of ideas. For the party to interfere is to prove Trump’s point and make him stronger. I’m okay with that if it helps to defeat Jeb, but not if it hurts Cruz.

Bring it on. All he has to do is remind people that the DNC put out a resolution in support of cops and white folk killers - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3331245/posts . Nothing he has ever done come anywhere as repulsive as gunning down cops in cold blood and beating whites to unconsciousness for no reason what so ever.

Trump has had more free coverage just by being Trump than all the other candidates combined.

When he is attacked, he gets stronger in the polls.

Dirty bastards are maaaaad as hell to see their mega donations to their “bought and paid for” candidates circling the toilet bowl and all because of Mr. Donald J. Trump.

Well, bring it on! There are no secrets on the Internet.

“The GOP establishment is very concerned with Donald Trump’s enduring appeal”

They just don’t get it. We DESPISE these people. They’ve betrayed us every step of the way. How long did they think we’d be OK as their doormats? Guess they’ve never heard that “you’re supposed to dance with the one what brung ya”. We put them in their positions to do the right thing, and all they’ve done is go along to get along to get along with the dems, line their pockets, live the good life, and ignore us.
