The Real Watergate Scandal: Collusion, Conspiracy, and the Plot That Brought Nixon Down
C-SPAN BookTV ^ | Sunday, Aug 30 | Geoff Shepard.

Posted on 08/30/2015 10:06:31 AM PDT by virgil283

Book Discussion on The Real Watergate Scandal Geoff Shepard, former associate director in the Nixon administration, presents research he contends shows misconduct by the judges and prosecutors involved in the Watergate trials. An aging judge about to step down. Aggressive prosecutors friendly with the judge. A disgraced president. A nation that had already made up its mind. The Watergate trials were a legal mess—and now, with the discovery of new documents that reveal shocking misconduct by prosecutors and judges alike, former Nixon staffer Geoff Shepard has a convincing case that the wrongdoing of these history-making trials was actually a bigger scandal than the Watergate scandal itself.

Tonight on C-SPAN 8 pm EST. New Book

"Shepard has uncovered some truly interesting and disturbing new information about the unethical ways in which the prosecutors and judges conducted themselves behind the scenes of the central Watergate trials. Watergate takes on a new meaning with Shepard's book. It now can be seen as part of a initiative to reverse an election by improper, highly questionable and unacceptable conduct, driven by a few very talented exceptionally trained people to reverse a popular election. It worked but should not have ."

Any single one of the nearly countless Obama scandals is far worse than Watergate, which demonstrates how low the federal government has sunk in 40+ years.

Exactly. And Hiss was a commie spy, as was Harry Dexter White. Elitist communist bastards who cost the US a lot of people and materiel. A lot of our soldiers lost their lives as a result.

But, what is missing— not having read this book at this point- is the REASON these factors were easily put into play:

The FACT that Maureen Dean (wife of John Dean who “dumped”, and became self-righteous liar)— was a whore. And Maureen Dean was in the catalog of whores, kept on file at the DNC offices which were needlessly broken into and bugged. The whore connection cannot be ignored as the real reason it all came to pass. Serious, bipartisan sleaze. One can note how quickly the dem machine latched onto Dean, once they knew- and that was a simple procedure with cut-outs. G. Gordon Liddy and many others have addressed this factor, and Dean’s p**sy whipped persona. It’s the little things, always.

Nixon’s crime was defeating McGovern in a national landslide. None of the liberals in the media knew anyone who voted for him. Clearly he must have stolen the election and had to be taken out.

I felt that way even at the time the whole “scandal” was unfolding.

Exactly right.

So,

Hillary Rodman’s push to deny Richard Nixon’s basic Constitutional rights wasn’t a radical view among those liberal activists working on the Watergate prosecutorial staff but actually a mainstream view?

Kind of clears up a lot of the muddy water from that era.

Do I dare to contend that Richard Millhouse Nixon was a double American patriot? First in 1960 when it he didn’t object to a stolen Presidential election (like Bush did in 2000). And then again in 1974 when he resigned instead fighting the Impeachment effort and exposing the machinations of the Democratic party.

With the left, the ends always justify the means.

However, when their own are caught in a web of similar or more serious behaviors...well, that's "different."

The book “Silent Coup” which is endorsed by G Gordon Liddy, makes a good case that the whole operation was run by Dean in order to get the address book listing Dean’s soon to be wife.

I wonder if that snake, Mark Felt, will be mentioned. It is his treachery that destroyed so much, and his worthless hide came out intact.

Watergate was a well orchestrated witch-hunt. They had to be ready for this, just waiting for something to let things spring into action.

LBJ’s administration, nor Kennedy’s were bastions of integrity. I bet Nixon was probably better than LBJ honestly.

Watergate was a well placed dagger at the heart of America. It doomed Southeast Asia, vindicating the radical left, and forever tarnished the “Silent Majority” of Middle America that carried him to victory.

I just finished SILENT COUP. Nixon, Haig, Dean—all had skullduggery to hide—wiretaps, etc.—but Dean ordered the DNC break-ins. He also had his fingers in everything—the Bailley trial, etc.—all of it related to Mo Dean’s career as a call-girl. Dean is the great villain in Watergate. Nixon was blameless, and completely deceived from beginning to end.

G. Gordon Liddy used to say that people would compliment him on how well his sons turned out. He explained that “during their most formative years, I was in prison.”

...and the G-Man would know the inside story.

Dean denied it, threatened to sue Liddy but never did.

Dean never did, because of course, Liddy had proof. And, it was TRUE.
