When Denver was rescued in Detroit about a year ago, he was near death. But a man who had been assisted by Dog Aide, a community awareness group that supports pet owners, thought they might be able to save him.
And they did.
Katelin Thomas, who works with Dog Aide and owns K9 Turbo Training, says when they first saw Denver, they didn't think he could survive in his condition. His body was so stiff that his legs could not even be separated for them to be able to tell if he was male or female, so they simply called him "Casey."
But Casey, now Denver, is a survivor! He's a very loving dog with quite the personality. And producers of a video for Ford Motor Company tapped Denver and Katelin to appear in a video for National Dog Day on traveling with your pet.

Angie Kozleski from Ford Communications released the following:
In honor of National Dog Day, we wanted to create a video that offers helpful tips to both Ford owners and dog owners alike; it also gave us the opportunity to highlight our product in a relevant way. We believe in helping dogs find their forever homes, so to that end, in addition to this video, we were also excited to partner with Petfinder and use our social channels to highlight adoptable dogs in different markets.
The video featuring Katelin and Denver was produced by Green Sky Creative and Team Detroit. You can see the commercial featuring Katelin and Denver below!

What a handsome boy!
Good looking Dog!
Oh My God! It’s a Pit Bull, Kill it, Kill it Kill it! There now that I have appeased the breed haters.............Very good looking dog, and bet he’s just a little love factory after the suffering he went through.
What a handsome fellow! I just want to hug him. I hope he has a happy and long life.
This is a new story to me. What was the dog sick with in the first place? Neglect, an accident, or disease? If this was in Michigan, and during the winter months, he could have just become frostbitten during a night of exposure.
More Eeeeeevil pitbull propaganda!!
he made me think of Petey too
Ahhh-— Love this story.
We be getting old....:o)
Id like to know too.
I’m currently sitting on a Harley trying to see the story on an iPhone and not getting much joy. :/
Altariel is in charge of de ebils list.

My sis lives in Fla, about 1500 miles away from me.
Having only owned miniature poodles her whole life, and after the passing of her beloved "Pandi Belle", she asked me to help her find a dog. It's kinda what I specialize in ...
On a mission to heal my sister's broken heart, I took to Petfinder, and haunted the pages for about a week.
And then, finally, I spotted ... The One!
I emailed her the photos of this poor dog, not revealing it's history of neglect and abandonment, as described in it's posting. I didn't want have her make her decision to adopt based on pity.
Of course, only being exposed to poodles, she cried for a week every time she looked at this poor dogs picture ... She thought it was the homliest creature she had ever seen. She mentally struggled with keeping the appointment to meet the dog. She cried when she met it, fearing it's "ugliness".
I laughed, and told her to trust me .... It's all in "the eyes", I said.
Long story short, she adopted that dog about a year ago, and this dog has turned out to be the most incredible, loving, kind, smart, loyal, quiet, obedient, grateful, and BEAUTIFUL dog known to man .... Well, at least according to her!
The Vet tells her it's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, I just call her ... a Miracle ~
You're sitting on a Harley. If you're looking for joy try poking the Start button ;)
Looks just like my dog. Lol
Aww, that’s so neat ... Didn’t mean to make you cry :)
The amazing thing is, this dog touches lives every day that way. She’s the star of the neighborhood, people constantly stopping to ask about her on walks. People offering to buy her, haha ... they just want to meet her and touch her. It’s amazing ~
You might say they mended each other’s brokeness, and you can’t beat that!
Thank you !
