Luckily, the threads are the same between the 5 gallon containers these days and an older one I have. I discard the “safety” spouts and keep the caps. I use the one flexible type spout from my old one one the newer ones. Works like a charm.
You can still buy “racing jugs” that will quickly pour gas into the gas tanks where it belongs. They are a loophole in the “safe gas can” law. Amazon sells them.
Those aren’t gas cans, but they sure look like that. No, those are devices designed by demons which one should avoid at all costs.
