Jimmy Carter to discuss cancer diagnoses Thursday

Former President Jimmy Carter has scheduled a Thursday morning news conference to discuss his cancer diagnosis.

The 90-year-old Democrat plans to discuss his health in detail at 10 a.m. ET at The Carter Center in Atlanta. Scheduled to last 45 minutes, it'll be Carter's first in-depth comments on his health since announcing last week that cancer is spreading through his body.

Carter had a "small mass" removed from his liver in an early-August surgical procedure.

Carter, elected in 1976 and ousted in the 1980 election by Ronald Reagan, has a family history of pancreatic cancer -- a disease that claimed his father, brother and two sisters. His mother had breast cancer, which later spread to her pancreas.

It's not clear where the cancer originated or how far it has spread -- two issues that Carter is likely to be asked about Thursday morning.

Obama Kare offers end of life choices since at 90 years old you are too old and sick to receive any chemo/surgery.

It will be interesting to see what procedures Jimmy will receive, certainly not the ones that we would get.

TMI. I’m sorry he has cancer but I honestly could not care less what kind it is or what the prognosis is.

Holding a press conference to discuss his health?

His sense of self-worth is certainly still healthy.

Jimmy Carter was a decent man and engineer. He should have stayed in Plains GA and stayed out of democratic politics. It corrupted his mind and made him seem like a babbling idiot. All said, I wish him well and hope he continues to bass fish and clen up around his local church!

Ditto

The blood on Mr Carters hands is staggering. Every single time ISIS rapes a young girl or beheads a Christian it can be laid directly at Jimmy Carters feet.

I thought Obamacare was supposed to put a STOP to End of Life expenses like this that have No Hope of doing anything other than prolonging the agony.

Nah. Any prayers that might be sent on his behalf should come only after his slow demise and decay.

I’ve already said my prayers for his soul and hope others here do, too. From the little that’s been reported so far, it looks like his condition is terminal.

It's not clear where the cancer originated...

Somewhere above his neck and between his ears...there's not much else in there, and apparently never has been.

I don't wish him a painful death - that would be needlessly cruel on my part...

...BUT...

...undoubtedly many will not be so kind, like the families of all those who have died because of the Iranian fascist regime that he ushered into power. Not to mention the millions who will undoubtedly curse his memory because of what that same regime WILL do in the future.

I'm not wishing anything on you, Jimmah, but being realistic, I'd like to wish you a pleasant stay in the Lucifer Inn. Don't forget to say hello to your friends like the Ayatollah Khomeini, Arafag and Chavez.
