I've seen this place on the Food Channel. I was going to say something like she should have known what she was getting into when she went there and she's probably looking for a payday. But $25K for the damages she suffered to her eye seems very reasonable to me. They should just pay.
As for me...I wouldn't eat there. I don't need to pay for people to throw food at me.

But the stupidity of a restaurateur making this a part of the menu? I mean, of course somebody is going to sue. Someone is DYING to get hit by a roll so they can sue. Idiots.

I suspect $25,000 is a number used for purposes of filing a lawsuit. Where I live, $25,000 is the minimum amount that has to be claimed before the suit can be filed in the county court. Suits for smaller amounts are filed before the district magistrate. I suppose she would want the opportunity to present her case before a bleeding heart jury. She has a better chance there than letting a magistrate decide.
My guess is that $25,000 is the minimum. No doubt the plaintiff will try to extract far more for such things as pain and suffering.

I’ve been to the one in Gulf Shores Alabama.
It’s a fun place, kids love it.
Serious hog trough sized country portions.
Always a long wait in season.
Now some freakin ambulance chaser will make them force everybody to wear helmets and face shields.
