Well, if that wasn’t a lawsuit waiting to happen, lol.

Woman sues restaurant known for throwing rolls after she gets hit by bread Well, if you can reap Millions from spilling hot coffee in your lap, it's certainly worth a try.

I've seen this place on the Food Channel. I was going to say something like she should have known what she was getting into when she went there and she's probably looking for a payday. But $25K for the damages she suffered to her eye seems very reasonable to me. They should just pay.
As for me...I wouldn't eat there. I don't need to pay for people to throw food at me.

But the stupidity of a restaurateur making this a part of the menu? I mean, of course somebody is going to sue. Someone is DYING to get hit by a roll so they can sue. Idiots.

Sounds like that roll was a little high and tight
I’ve eaten there years ago. Fun place. Very good home style cooking. If you leave hungry it’s your own fault.

Have no idea how I got a triple post out of that.

I have seen this place on TV! What a dummy.

I suspect $25,000 is a number used for purposes of filing a lawsuit. Where I live, $25,000 is the minimum amount that has to be claimed before the suit can be filed in the county court. Suits for smaller amounts are filed before the district magistrate. I suppose she would want the opportunity to present her case before a bleeding heart jury. She has a better chance there than letting a magistrate decide.
My guess is that $25,000 is the minimum. No doubt the plaintiff will try to extract far more for such things as pain and suffering.

She did not get millions in the McD case. The judge reduced it to $640K and McD and the plaintiff settled out of court for an undisclosed sum probably for less.
the coffee was 190 degrees, too hot to drink, and resulted in 3rd degree burns over 6% of her body resulting in 8 days of hospital treatment at a burn center.

Idiots. That's exactly what I thought the first time I saw this place on TV. I thought they've GOT to be nuts! People want to sue you for looking crossed eyed at them...even if you have crossed eyes!

This is absolutely true. Most folks cannot finish their plates or get full on rolls and sides before their meal even arrives. The restaurant has been showcased on some food shows on tv as a place you need to stop at if you are in the area.

this is a pretty reasonable suit...
$25,000 for a detached cornea. The restaurant should settle.
