Haven't we beaten this to death already?
In my opinion neither side came out of this looking very professional and the quicker we conservatives put this behind us the better. Is Trump a conservative in the classic sense we mostly support here? Not likely. Is Kelly the conservative newscaster we hope she would be? Not as much as some of us hope.
But before this debate squabble started we would have thought both of them were on our side of the spectrum and frankly if you put both on a see-saw they would both tilt right.
I'm not going to pretend Trump is my top choice. I understand that he is the biggest winner right now when it comes to the anger we all have against the GPO-E and he was willing to jump into that void with both guns firing.
My issue with him from the debate is that he went to a level that I thought was beneath him. If he had stopped at the 'Rosie O'Donnell comment I would have chuckled like so many of us did and would have thought less of it, but there were better ways to show you are a mensch and the 24 hours afterwards was not a great example of how to be one.
And asking for an apology is something I expect to hear from radical feminist nut jobs, not someone who brags about 'beating on an opponent in a negotiation until they submit'.
As for Kelly, if she somehow reads these words . . . and for the rest of the smug media out there . . . a moderator is SUPPOSED to be like a sports referee; when you do your job best you are NOT NOTICEABLE.
ALL moderators, on all sides of the political spectrum, need to understand their role is NOT to get involved to be part of the story! It's to ask questions that allow the viewing audience to make an informed decision on election day, not to think they are participants in the debate, which far too many think they are.
The fact that so many of her colleagues were sending her congratulations on her performance says volumes about their own professional immaturity. The David Brinkleys are turning in their graves.
It's time to put this behind us as conservatives and move on to the next debate, and lets hope that one sticks to learning more about the policies.
As for my own preferences, I can comfortably say that thanks to Kelly and Company's lack of professional maturity I am no closer to a final decision than I was before.
I put on CNN the other morning to see what was up with the EPA disaster. Not one mention of that or anything else. It was all about the Foxnews Debate and Trump and Kelly
I think we are past it. Kelly appears to be on her way towards football sideline reporting or co-hosting Entertainment Tonight.
I think that Kelly announced, last night, that she will not be on her show for abou 10 days. Unexpected leave? Good riddance!
Kelly said she was just going to continue to do ‘good journalism’. Seems like we’ll be waiting a while for that to happen.
Brinkley was a commie too.
Kelly is now taking a time-out. Hunkering in the Bunker.
They should team up and do a show for a week together, Trump vs Kelly. The ratings would make O’Reilly look like the Ed Show.
They did get passed it. Megyn ran away to go on vacation and Donald faces his critics every day giving more interviews than all the other candidates combined.
You got that right.
“It’s time to put this behind us as conservatives and move on to the next debate, and ... “
Forgive and forget?
If I were Trump or one of the conservative candidates, I would have in big, block red letters on top of my notepad:
BE READY FOR ANYTHING.
Fox was supposed to be a level playing field. CNN?
"Megyn, you ignorant slut."
Will Megyn do another Howard Stern show again soon?
Completelt past it...until the moment that sabertooth-shrew-dragging-fangs-across-a-blackboard screech’s voice enters my eardrums.
I doubt whether this “controversy” has hurt either party. Trump will continue to be Trump and Kelly is an entertainer who would be as comfortable on MSNBC as she has been on FOX.
Went to Del Mar Race Track yesterday, beautiful venue. I saw beautiful thorough bled horses. When I look at Ailes and blondie I see a pair of Georgia field mules working in the dirt and sun. Thorough bred or field mule. Guess who wins the race.
I think it has moved on already, except for FR and some slow on the uptake Liberal Talking Heads.
Now it’s Ben Carson and Fetal Tissue Research.
Of course Trump just brought up the EPA Spill. Maybe it will finally get some legs.
I just like to look at Megyn and occasionally listen and I’ll take the hits for that because it goes in one ear and out the other.
I’ve yet to hear who the perfect candidate is because there is none. Trump’s an ass but I like his in your face style, his failure to apologize because anyone who apologizes shows weakness and he’s right on a lot of issues especially immigration but saying it and doing it is two different things.
I’ll stick with Cruz for now.
Well if you feel better that’s all that counts. That’s what FR is for. :-)
You would think.
I was mad as heck that the Fox moderators froze out Ted Cruz, but there’s no point in going on about it.
