We’re Making Life Too Hard for Millennials
NYT Sunday Review ^ | July 31, 2015 | Steven Rattner

Posted on 08/06/2015 12:30:35 PM PDT by Diana in Wisconsin

To some, millennials — those urban-dwelling, ride-sharing indefatigable social networkers — are engaged, upbeat and open to change. To others, they are narcissistic, lazy and self-centered.

I’m in the first camp, but regardless of your opinion, be fretful over their economic well-being and fearful — oh so fearful — for their prospects. The most educated generation in history is on track to becoming less prosperous, at least financially, than its predecessors.

They are faced with a slow economy, high unemployment, stagnant wages and student loans that constrict their ability both to maintain a reasonable lifestyle and to save for the future.

Longer term, rising federal debt payments and increased spending on Social Security and Medicare will inflict a tremendous financial burden on them, threatening their own prospect of receiving promised retirement benefits.

To a considerable extent, that’s the fault of my generation, the baby boomers. We were the children of the Greatest Generation, but we may also be the most irresponsible generation.

This is the plan and desire by the NWO idiots. They want to bring America down militarily, economically and socially because we are too strong and can set them on their cans as they try to run the globe. They have made a lot of progress with Obama in power and I’m sad to say, with somewhat with Bush, too. The Patriot Act undid the constitution and it classified the political and social enemies of globalization plans as “terrorists.”

Generational warfare, the inevitable result of welfare states.

Speak for yourself.
I'm a Boomer - graduated HS, three years in the Marine Corps (including VN), college degree via GI Bill, married, 2 kids (put them both through college), 35 years with one company, retired.
Where were you, loser?

The GenX kids I know (including my boys) are very hard working. Many of them own homes. Yes, they are delaying having kids until they’re close to 30 - but I don’t see that as dumb...I didn’t adopt my boys until I was 35. Oh, and MARRIED! (How quaint, LOL!)

Read further into the article. The author talks about student loan forgiveness and taking SS dollars from the wealthiest and REDISTRIBUTING THAT WEALTH to these pukes who haven’t even earned it!

It’s typical Liberal PAP from Da Times. And absolutely NO mention of most of them VOTING FOR 0BAMA, thereby exacerbating the damage to themselves, let alone the rest of us!

I fear them.

They are horribly brainwashed, too easily enlisted into dangerous online lynch mobs, badly educated, open to despotism, don’t believe in constitutional rights, have no pride in the nation, and cannot accept the fact that they can ever be wrong about anything.

That's OK, they're the generation that will be in charge of deciding whether "compassionate care" for the boomers is a good way to help us shuffle off this mortal coil. My advice: stay healthy.

Karma is funny that way.

You have stated the most excellent summary of what I have observed in Millenials. Thanks for posting it.

Try coming of age in 1974 when baby boomers worked for a pittance. And in those days, you really had a work ethic from the boss on down to the intern.
