You mean exporting . They would just tack on the tariff to the price of the car and then the US consumer would end up paying for part of the wall .
Perhaps you’re right...but it would be money well spent...and of course nobody is compelled to buy a Mexico built vehicle so there would still be an element of consumer choice.

Trump did tell BO’R that Mexico is making billions of dollars at our expense ...and that the cost they would pay for the wall is miniscule by comparison.

The American citizen had no problems when the US was completely funding for the 700 mi double fence until the Republicans pulled the funding on it in 2006. Only 32 miles was built of the original 700 miles.
So what about all the other products coming from Mexico? will there be a tariff on all of it? After all, there isn’t a car made in this country that doesn’t have a considerable portion of the parts made in Mexico and elsewhere. Tariffs on Mexican goods will drive up the cost of every car in America and a good many other products. I also wonder if it would include things that land in Mexican seaports and are shipped across the border.
There a 4 Ford plants in Mexico, 3 in Canada and dozens more elsewhere around the world.

Take their oil wells. Kill their drug dealers. Make the lives of the Mexican aristocracy hell. And make the Mexican aristocracy pay for our costs of their illegal aliens. Including medical costs, school costs, welfare costs, etc. Why the hell should we have to pay for it.
Withhold the several hundred millions of dollars of foreign aid to Mexico per year and divert the funds to the fence.

Daily border crossing entry fee....just like the thruway. You want to use our roads....pay for them...and we’ll use the money to build a wall.
If he wants to impress me he can build the wall himself but its going to take a hell of a lot more than a wall to get the situation under control.
