One of the bad things about living abroad for long periods of time is that you realize that we in the states don’t have a monopoly on nice places to live. Further, by being unwilling to pull up stakes and leave, we give the progressives that much more of a weapon to hold over us.

This is the husband of Lulu, RKBA Democrat. You’re exactly right. If we are unwilling to vote with our feet, the progressives will be able to lord it over us indefinitely.
America is a way of living, not a place. There are plenty of people who live in American who are not “American” in their outlook (POTUS, anyone?), while there are lots of people overseas who are just as American as anyone here. Strategically, as Sun Tsu said (The Art of War), you don’t fight battles you are sure to lose. It may make sense to regroup in various places and in various ways. Don’t make it too easy for them.
