Scorching ‘heat dome’ over Middle East sees temperatures soar to 165°F in Iran

Iran is buckling under the pressure of a massive heatwave passing across the Middle East, with temperatures soaring to nearly 70°C.

Scorching heat levels of 50°C have already paralyzed nearby Iraq, where officials were forced to call a four-day public holiday because it was too hot to work.

But the word “hot” has taken on an entirely new meaning in Iran’s city of Bandar Mahshahr, where it was claimed that the city’s heat index, or “feels-like temperature”, was among the highest ever recorded.

So for the past 150,000 years? Do they know what the temperature was there on July 23rd, 6,734 BC?

Lying headline. 50C is not 165F

50c = 122F. I used to live in Palm Springs, CA where record was 123F

Ya know that isn’t really that hot, hell, in August 1945, 2 cities in Japan recorded temperatures of 6,000 DEGREES CELSIUS, About 10,000 degrees fahrenheit
