Thanks for posting. It answered some questions I had.
I cannot condone killing wildlife unless for food.
This story isn’t old yet? How many times must we hear about a dead lion?
#catlivesmatter
Too many apparently. American animals in shelters——meh.
Aren’t they alleging that the lion was lured onto the property? Is that legal?
I have no problem with legal hunting. I understand that male lions seldom live beyond 20 years or so in captivity and much less in the wild.
No one cares about the facts. It’s a trumped up distraction from the PP issue. Just like the fake PP website hack.
I am amazed at how much the media have been pushing this story.
People who four days ago had never heard of Cecil the lion are now, as if on cue, outraged that a single hunter killed a single lion, and may have violated game and hunting regulations of Zimbabwe. We are now supposed to be shocked and outraged about hunting trips by Americans in Zimbabwe.
Amazing to me that the media glommed on to this, as if the biggest news in the world is that someone went hunting. The biggest news of the world is that someone may have violated hunting laws of an obscure country in darkest Africa. Unbelievable to me.
I read a quote from a citizen living in that area that has witnessed the true suffering and REAL problems facing some people in Zimbabwe:
“The issue of Cecil is not an issue. I think people of America and the like... their lives are so perfect, so rich, no problems at all, they have to manufacture problems. They would not last a day in Zimbabwe”
Much more relevant than some phony treaty with iran that’ll for sure bite us in the ass eventually.
Someone put a picture out yesterday of “ribs showing, belly’s extended” little African kids begging for some chow. Think they’d like some lion meat for dinner? Plans chugging along just fine. Skew folks priorities and we’ll have our way with them eventually.
Giving a name to a lion does not make it human. Calling a baby-in-development a mass of tissue does not make it non-human.
Think bambi, thumper etc, etc. Clarence the cross eyed lion? Some folks have been humanizing animals for quite a while now. Donald Duck, Mickey and Minnie. Heck they’re just simple folks just like us. :>}

Thank you for that. You're right on both counts.
And, there's more. You can't prove that you're a man by traveling halfway around the world to execute a defenseless animal. You can't buy courage. And, you can't develop courage by hiring a PR firm and hiding from the press.
This guy should summon up the courage to get out in front of this. He should come forward and try to explain what he thought he was doing, what he was trying to prove. The truth can't be as bad as he's making it appear.
That is your free choice. But is does not bequest nobleness or even sanity about your persona. Rather it is quite irrational and naïve. Most enlightened folks kill mice in their kitchen, rats in their garage and rattlesnakes in their back yard.
Some large, cute critters can kill a precious human that was only innocently fishing or picking berries in Alaska. Self defense is a quite strong reason to kill wildlife that one does not intend to eat. Such a list could go on and on but to what avail? It is suggested that you research the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
Yea, like your local Circle K
